Well, not really. The Mazda3 has been best seller two years on the trot, and Japanese 4wds / SUVs also sell like hot cakes, so presumably the average Australian no longer wants a 6 cylinder RWD saloon car with bugger all space in the boot due to transmission and spare wheel.
Ford baffle me though - the Mazda3 is essentially a Focus. Why the hell didn't they build that down here when it became obvious that was what the market wanted?
