Where can I get this done?
Not overly fussed if its hassle, but wouldn't mind knowing out of interest.
Ta
I had mine done at a hospital in Oxford. If you live in Oxfordshire they're still looking for volunteers and all the testing they do is free. DEXA scan as well as some spot measurements with ultrasound.
8.7% here BTW.
Have use of a DXA at work, as above - it is the most accurate method.
Although I was surprised to see that my pretty cheap electronic scales were only a few % different when on the "athlete" setting so don't rule out a set of those, then you can monitor progress easily.
Otherwise it's a visit to GP/health club/gym for a skinfold caliper measurement.
Well - bought some AccuMeasure skin fold calipers and followed the instructions to the letter.
They are measuring 4-5mm on the fold and for a 41 yr old male, this equates to 9.2% body fat. Happy with that, although as it's the first attempt, I'll not take it as final and will keep measuring in case of error.
So the scales type ones, any recommendations as to good/bad and ones to buy/avoid?
it might be worth having an electronic measurement done to check accuracy.
i also think we need some more photos.
STW isn't ready for more photos of my buffness
Shame as I find them quite inspirational, I've even signed my lardy asre up the gym to try and lose a few kilos and buff myself up before New Year in Tenerife.
What's your routine, STR?
