I have a the above in 21" runflat tyres, last night a double puncture over £700 for 2 new tyres was the last straw, I reckon to date in 2 years I've spent more on tyres for this car than all the other cars I've had in the last 20 years. Has anyone changed wheel sizes from 21" to 19" as the prices of tyres on these seem more reasonable and a better selection for winter tyres there are none that I can see for 21". Looking at motorpoint, similar X3's come in 21", 20" or 19" flavours dependent on spec. Also looking at Blackcircle Tyres when entering my reg it has a choice of 19' 20" and 21". Wheelbase have sets of 19" wheels for £699. So seems possible but just seeking reassurance if anyone has done this or has the knowledge to advise before shelling out, I am looking to keep the car for another few years so the change may be pay for itself in the long run.
21s are (or were) a bit of a weird size - tyres were (last time I checked) more expensive than 20s and 22s and choice vs those was very limited.
See if there are some X3 facebook groups... reckon you'll easily find someone with factory 19s who'd happily swap for the 21s.
