I'm sure we've got a few BMW owners on this forum, this article may be of interest.

It seems that some Continental manufactured Brake Actuation Units (electrified and decoupled ABS Modulator/Servo/Mastercylinder) may fail under certain circumstances. See your favourite BMW Dealer for details

we have had a recall for a leaky oil cooler, most newish cars are connected so the dealer can scan for recalls over the "air" so worth a phone call

I'm waiting for the indicator recall. Maybe they can fit some then.

From experience with a faulty airbag I was unable to take the car into a dealer on pain of having it seized (under what law I don't know) due to a faulty part that wasn't available to be fitted.

Whenever I feel my job is pointless, I remember some poor bugger has to fit indicators to [insert German car brand of choice here]

It is not clear at this present time how many UK cars will be affected by this issue.

Not very helpful! We were due to go car shopping this weekend, the wife decided she wants a Mini Countryman. We were looking at 2017/2018 models, with the BMW engine. Anyone any idea what age of cars this might affect?

It does, but does that mean new as in the last year, or new as in the current model? I think the facelift was 2017 which means a lot of the components on a 2017 might be the same as a 2024. In my head anyway.

No matter, I can check using that link
