Got a football straight in the eye last night
Couldn't see out of that eye
This morning I can see but vision is blurred

Any point going to the docs yet or just assume it will gradually get better?

Yes I know eyes are precious etc.

On a more serious note, go see the doc. During a five a side match at uni on of the girls got a footie in the face, she had a detached retina. Get it checked out

What Drac said - GP will only refer to local eye hospital walk in anyway, ime.

I'd just go to your local Eye hospital's A&E department and say that you've had an impact to your eye and are experiencing a level of loss of vision. Best be sure.

Either walk in or call local hospital eye dept - never GP, or optician for injury or sudden changes , eyes need urgent attention.

Many hospitals have complete eye casualty dept.

If not sure 111 can guide you to nearest.

It does seem to be improving hour by hour, still a bit blurred though

There's 2 in my region which covers Durham, Tyne and Wear through Northumberland that's potentially almost 70 miles to travel passing hospitals and countless opticians on the way.

You're not in London or Birmingham, that means you're a statistical outlier and of no interest or consequence to any government body, how have you not realised this by the time you're old enough to type?

I know my place

And every time you forget it look at the cost of crossrail (or hs2) and the state of the a1.

Weirdly there is an eye hospital in Manchester but it doesn't seem to show up using that search

I went to optician with eye issue. She spotted something was amiss & rang hospital. Hospital rang me a few hours later to arrange appointment for following day. Diagnosed with a retinal detachment & I was operated on next day. I was asked quite a few times if I had experienced a knock to the head.
Bear in mind the drops they use means you can't drive for several hours.

Yeah, your optician should send you straight to Eye Hospital A and E.
Go there direct so you aren't wasting time.

Get it checked, detached retinas can be bad if you ignore them.

I had a detached retina 2.5 years ago, and will be getting one in the other eye at some point in the next year or so. I just go straight to Moorfields - it helps that I'm only an hour and a half away in west London.
