[Closed] Bluetooth speakers. What sounds good for around £70?

If you can get one on sale, then I can recommend a JBL Flip2, they're normally around the £100, but I got mine on sale for half that, and it's a bloody good little speaker

I was looking at the JBL Flip 3 for £70.
Don't know much about them so wasn't sure if they were good or not?
Apparently the Sony one sounds good at mid-volume but distorts when loud. I'm presuming as they're all quite small they all do that?

I got the SRS X2 last Xmas (wanted the bose but was out of budget). I'm really pleased with it though so I can imagine the x3 will be good.

probably, but then I've never had the JBL at full loud, as it really doesn't need to be for most of the time. They're pretty impressive wee things

Flip 2 is really very very good

Now I'm stumped.
Just read the reviews for the Cambridge Audio G2 and they're glowing.
Maybe I need to hear one?

TDK Trek Max should come in around budget looking on Amazon - got mine cheap as ex display - opted for as wanted to use in garden and not weorry about sudden showers - sounds good (to me) and controls nice and easy to use but I'm no HiFi buff(oon)

Don't discount speakers using a wire, ie jackplug connection. I have some pretty decent ones which cost about £100 although they seem to have been discontinued now. How hard is it to just plug the phone in and leave it next to the speakers ?

I'd second ones that have a cable connection - theres nothing worse than the sound starting to cut out because the phone moves away a little too far or the signal gets blocked/overridden/etc.

I sacked bluetooth in the house for that very reason.
Don't think its just the cheap ones that do it either.

I bought my three girls a Cambridge Audio Go speaker each last xmas - really good sound and can be more than loud enough (old dad content!).
Bluetooth + 3.5mm jack connection FTW - they often plug their phones in by cable as they say the phone battery lasts better that way.

If they plugged in a power cable instead of an audio cable it'd last even longer... (-:

Might depend how you use it of course, but this has been a total non-issue for me with my Flip 2.

I like it so much I'm getting my wife a Flip 3 for Xmas (for £70), even though it means I'll have to listen to Taylor Swift songs or YouTube videos about online games louder than usual.

cha****ng - had it with everything from cheap adaptors to Bose and stuff in between.
Outdoors not so much of an issue but when the beer starts and everyone starts playing "I've got a better one" a cable is much easier 😉

ps - have a good look at the Polaroid kit in Asda - bonkers cheap for the power they have and overlooked by the brand snobs.
Have the Block and its great even at full blast.

I have the X3 and it's excellent.

I've got the X3 and the X1. We use the X3 on site to fill the room with tunes but be able to do a speakerphone when the office phones up. The X1 is pretty good for the weight but the X3 embarrasses it. Tried the Bose and it might be good for a Mozart or something like that but if you want some WuTang you're better off with the Sony.

last year we bought my son a Sony srs x33. Its been keeping his entire university flat in music all term. He is really chuffed with it

Also worth having a look at/listening to the Pure Voca.

I've had one for a year and have been impressed. At the time it was between this and the Cambridge Audio Go but the Voca was nearly 1/2 price of the Go.

Asked the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Bought the flip 3 for £70. Nice piece of kit and sounds pretty good.

We've got a UE Boom that we've had for a year or so & paid just under £100 for (instead of £120 or something) & we got 2 as Xmas prezzies from PC World for £70 each not that long ago.
The sound's pretty bliddy good too! (& theyr'e water resistant)

Bought a flip-3 in the airport for 60 quid. Really pleased with it. Great sound, decent battery life, clever the way all the controls are built into the shell. Use it instead of my iMac speakers when working at home. Now need another one as my daughter loves it/stole it.

Just bought the Sony X33 for £70 from Argos.
It's my birthday present so I can't have it yet but looking forward to trying it out next week.

Alex - if you don't mind me asking, which airport? Flying to the states shortly and want a Flip 3 for the trip. If I can get it cheap on the way, so much the better.
