Couldn't find the most recent thread, so apologies for the new one

Need to replace my broken AudioPro T20's in the office. Edifier always seem a popular suggestion on here

Stepping up slightly from the budget range, anyone used these?

Not that model but i bought the R1280 DBs, which is a cheaper version. Very pleased with them, mostly used to play my turntable, via a cheapo pre-amp but also used to play music and podcasts off my phone. I got them to replace a sonos system and I’ve not been disappointed.

What happened to the t20s, I have a few pairs of audio pro speakers and wondered how long they would last.  Audio pro had an outlet sale last week but won't ship to UK.

I've always viewed Edifier as good PC speakers rather that speakers in their own right (I've had some and they are fine).

Personally I'd be looking at these in that price range...

...I've got bookshelf and floorstanding Q Acoustics speakers and they are rather good for the money.

Alarm bells are ringing when I look at how much they're spent on the exteriors - and what have they cut in order to hit the (relatively low) price point?

Another vote for the Ruarks from me.

I have both Ruarks and M20s, if you have the space the M20s are amazing but considerably larger. The MR1s are great speakers too, but benefit from a sub. I have no experience of Edifiers so won't comment on those.

The M20s have a 5* review from What Hi-fi. That normally a pretty sound rec.

Just wouldn't turn on one day. LED lights up briefly when I try and turn them on, then nothing. Guessing a power supply issue, but as good as they were, not sure if it's worth trying to get them repaired

Now thinking maybe spend £50 more and get the WiFi version?

Loses the Hi Res Bluetooth, but if it plays Tidal and Amazon etc directly, there would be no need for this anyway?

They get great reviews

Maybe... But once you are into that kind of money you might want to look at a proper amp and hifi speakers?

OK I just looked on the a38 and a48s, the rear panel where the mains enters is accessible, I d have a q look behind it.  I had a roberts radio that powered up and then off continuously, they fixed it for 50 quid, saying something about a capacitor I think.

Nah, it's for the office - limited for space. And the source will be either anything playing on the PC (quality not important), or internet based music streaming, so another source would be required

Well, I got them

Only trialling a few tracks so far via Spotify and Tidal on both Wi-fi and 3.5mm jack to RCA from the computer

Wow, they sound bloody good to my 53yo non audiophile ears

Even Spotify sounds decent - and yes I can always tell the difference between Spotify and Tidal FLAC

Previous reference speakers are Audio Pro T20's and Sony WH1000-XM3 headphones. These sound notably better than anything I've listened to before. The staging sounds wonderful. I'll give more detail when I've had a few hours listening to them properly

They are big old buggers, weighing in at around 17kg for the pair. Monitor is 32" for size reference

Desk needs a rearrange

Do you live on an earthquake fault line? Or next to the train tracks?

It's a charging head - sans cable in that pic. Puts the phone in a nice position too if you are using it as your music source.
