I'm after some recommendations. I have some August EP650s which I like, but I now have a need to carry headphones in a bag rather than leave them on a desk, and they're a bit bulky.

Any ideas for some that pack noticeably smaller but still have a good sound with decent bass? No in-ear things, please: I don't get on with them, they always fall out.

Thanks 🙂

I've had a pair of Y50BT's too. Very good, made my ears a bit hot though.  I'm going to buy another pair to replace the Beats X that have been changed under warranty 3 times in a year

Anyone recommend some for the gym?

I can't stand 'in ear' earphones with the little silicone plugs, dunno if I'm allergic or what but even the smallest sizes leave me with really hot/itchy ears canals.

I don't really want something huge and clunky either.

And I'd like them to be noise canceling as the gym insists on having a semi open-plan, with two classes at either end competing with their own loud music, drowning out the already barely bearable pop music in the rest of the gym!

Moon on a stick?

Another happy AKG Y50BT user but they are quite big, and your ears will get hot in use but if decent bass is your thing then you will not be disappointed, as an alternative what about B&W P5,  they are more than twice the price without twice the sound quality....but they do sound very nice all the same.

I bought the AKG C50BT a few months ago, not sure what the difference is (if any) but I got them for £70 and they're holding up well and I'm happy with the sound quality.

Only slight issue is the well known power-button flaw - when you fold them to pack away in the pouch, the opposite side often catches the button and powers them back on.

There's enough room in the bag to sort of half fold them so it's not a big deal, may get a bit annoying if you're carrying them around a lot and packing away frequently.

I tried Y50BTs, but found the bluetooth unreliable and when walking in them they moved and I could hear my footsteps if that makes sense.

Replaced with a set of Bose AE2s, much better overall and great battery life.

I get the impression the OP wants something more slender though for portability. Personally I prefer sound and comfort over convenience so I don't know what to recommend. I was using Sennheisers before this, smaller on ear fold-able phones, but they were really badly made and I went through 3 pairs so switched to something cordless.
