I've got a Galaxy S5 and since Monday the bluetooth has been draining the battery.

Before I got a Tile key finder I never used bluetooth. When I started using blue tooth it was using 2% ,yesterday it used 18%.  I need to leave the bluetooth on as I'd never find my keys otherwise.

I now also use bluetooth for the car, a speaker ,my watch and some earphones. None of which I used yesterday.

Any ideas? Ta.

Bin the Tile. Put your keys on a length of string around your neck.

Problem solved.

I've had this when a fitness tracker has got stuck in a loop trying to sync. Just having bluetooth on shouldn't use much battery, but if something is constantly trying to use it to communicate with the phone it will. Try resetting/re-pairing the tile if possible, I'm not sure how they work.

Had this yesterday with my moto.  Phone sat unused in my suit jacket pocket for about four hours and was very warm to the touch and battery down about 30% when I next looked at it. Turned it> off for 20 minutes.  Turned back on. No more issue.

When I look on Bluetooth the tiles are listed under available devices not under paired.

If I call my keys on my phone the alarm sounds, so they are connected.

Also when I click on Bluetooth it scans for about 30 seconds and then stops. I’m not sure if it’s always scanning in the background. Any way to check this?

I think the problem may have started when my old Tiles ran out of juice and my phone tried looking for them.

I have new tiles now and have “hidden” the old ones.

We have a bunch of TrackR things (similar to Tile except you can change the battery yourself).

We need to keep Bluetooth on for them to work but it doesn’t seem to impact the battery noticeably (on iPhone SE).

I’d guess these things use Bluetooth Low Energy so they shouldn’t be a huge draw if working correctly.

Probably not the Bluetooth itself, probably software related. I.e. the software is causing loads of communication with the tiles all the time.
