Today is my 4 year old daughters birthday. My wife is also pregnant and is thirteen days over her due date with an appointment to be induced tomorrow morning. So sods law obviously dictates that the wife is now in hospital in labour, depriving my daughter if the birthday fun she was expecting and meaning my daughters will now forever share the same birthday. Which is gonna be a bit shite for them really.

Some serious horse trading needed for weekend rides in future.

My mum and my sister have the same birthday and that was never really an issue. In fact, they both quite like it. Obviously not quite the same as sisters but can't see an issue really.

sharing a birthday will be great - means they both get presents on the same day and no-one feels left out

I share a birthday with my brother (Halloween, 2 years apart). It's a non-issue, especially when you get a bit older and you say "let's not bother with presents, just buy yourself something you want and I'll do the same!".

Your wife is a seriously inconsiderate b*tch though, I mean, HOW could she even dream of going into labour on your daughter's birthday. Tut-tut! 😉

Congrats by the way 😀

I have twins - I don't expect it will be an issue for them (assuming inconsiderate friends don't think 'we'll get 'em a joint present' every birthday and Christmas).

Congratulations BTW 🙂

My brother and I are 3 years and 4 days apart - we used to have joint birthday parties, some shared presents too. Must make things so much more convenient for the parents!

Congrats too!

Hubby and I are a few hours apart but on different days. So we always celebrate together.
We have a joint birthday meal, presents and cards from the family. It feels o.k for us.

Look at the upside.

Massive potential saving on cake, streamers, entertainers and outings over the years.
