Looks like they are finally seeing sense and are considering scrapping the trams project.

How many hospitals can you run for half a billion pounds?
You would build and equip about one ERI without any running costs roughly
trouble is they have spent most of the money now.
Can't see them scrapping it now, too much money already spent and would probably cost a fair chunk to scrap it now.
I hope they do scrap it.
Probably not gonna make it past Haymarket yet about to shut Princes st for 9 months. Why?
I am so glad i live in Glasgow !
Sounds like another Parliament building job. How many extra millions will it cost to complete it ?
Cambridge has a guided bus fiasco
Social engineering at its worst
Nice one - I have to get a cab across Edinburgh tmrw will pop this in the conversation early so I can just look out the window while the driver rants for a good 20 minutes....
This debacle is one of the few things I'm glad to have missed with working outta town.
The trams that is, not this thread.
There are so many things that seem wrong with the project, but the main thing I really cannot understand is why they didnt build from the airport to town, first rather than having islanded parts all over the city. At least they could have had part of the system running and generating some cashflow by now rather than only leasing the trams out to another council.
crayzeeeeeee
Having talked to some senior Belfinger guys. They are just astounded at the council. But are gagged as part of the contract so cannot comment to the papers.
Wait until the contract is over they are probably gonna rip the cooncil a new one.
