Wouldn't be surprised to see them win the CL
Great if they get the win needed in Germany and they're playing better away this year with the pressure off.
They're not out of it yet and stranger things have happened. That would really put the cat amongst the pigeons.
would be a bit harsh on Everton/Arsenal/Other though.
The retirement of the most succesfull manager in their history,
His replacement by an incompetent muppet,
Up to their eyes in debt, with owners intent on bleeding them dry,and a monstrous wage bill of has been's and never will be's...
Cherry Pie!
As a united fan, I accept, like most, that this was always going to be a difficult season. To say the least. It'd be good to bookmark this thread, and see where we are this time next season. See if the bitter wishful thinking of the ABU's about permanent decline comes to pass. Somehow I doubt it!
It's likely that after tonight we'll be the only English side left in Europe, despite the gleeful predictions of an arse-kicking by Bayern last week. It never happened! Because the much maligned Moyes (him without the European experience, remember) got his tactics spot on! As you could tell by Guadiolas frustration afterwards. We may well go out tomorrow, but we made more of a fist of the CL this season than any other premiership club!
And I hope that the gloating Liverpool fans realise that this is their one big shot at the title this year. Because with midweek champions league games back on the agenda next season, like their competition this year have had, that's an advantage they won't be able to enjoy like they have this season! Despite the giddy euphoria at the fact you're no longer crap, You've still not won anything yet! 😀
More of a fist of the CL than any other premiership club?
Bayern is the first decent team you have faced. One game where you played ok and Moyes is a European tactical genius.
Liverpool have a great opportunity this season but it is far from their one big chance. Enjoy channel 5 next season. If you finish high enough........ 😆
I've hardly said he's a tactical genius, but I think still being very much in it, against the present holders, and predicted winners, probably deserves a bit of credit.
Unless you're too consumed with bitterness, and wishful thinking to give him any, obviously
I can spare a smidge, but that's all it deserves!
I'm currently consumed with pride and genuine optimism at how my team is playing and how my club is being run. 🙂
Unless you're too consumed with bitterness...
I'm in London but I heard my ironometer just go bang in Brizzle. 😀
Indeed! 🙂

They definitely deserve some credit for the Bayern game but it's only one game. They've had a very easy draw up until then.
And I hope that the gloating Liverpool fans realise that this is their one big shot at the title this year.
It's a great opportunity certainly but I doubt it's their only shot. When's your lot's next big shot coming up? 🙂

Sure about that 🙂
Well. That was inevitable.
Chelski v United final then? Maybe decided on penalties? 😀

Your faith and optimism is touching...
Good luck tomorrow. I think you'll need it.
3-0 to Bayern .
3-0 to Bayern
Nearly right!
🙂
😀 😀
theirs to lose now Title as well as match
Another Liverpool goal and it's pretty much all over for this game. Sensational stuff really.
Will be interesting to see how they cope with being title favourites if they do win this one.
The referee's a scouser ....ah its like the 80's ...what next Brendan time 😉
Don't know about that JY. Possibly a pen yes, but more a maybe than a certainty. City came back into it with 10 to go. But. What a goal by Sterling!
Yeah I reckon the top sides do get a bit of an advantage from the ref at home - have you heard the crowd? If only we had a manager who bullies referees too. 😉
First 20-30 mins Man City were absolutely blown away - made to look a poor side.
Great stuff Liverpool. Listening to the kop at the start was like going back to my childhood. Dare to believe reds, dare to believe. Good fun to watch as a semi-neutral.
Don't talk to me about the crowd, I was watching with tears rolling down my cheeks. All of my family are cremated to YNWA and that really made me sob. There's 3 of them who would have done anything to see Liverpool in this position after years and years without it. I'll be raising a glass to them in an hour I hope!
I was choked too and the closest link I have is a FIL who went to Uni there!!!! Glad the players didn't freeze.
Here's to them, weeksy. If the crowd can help raise the intensity again at the start of the 2H this should be great.
Yes, very emotional with the kop in full flow. And then a completely silent Anfield with the minute's silence, no need for anyone to start clapping to mask any noise.
Oooh! Suarez should be off there. And he's still chopsing away at the ref trying to get sent off. Rodgers would do well to get him off here.
Ok, as long as you agree that Milner should be booked for his dive just after, and all the city players swarming round the ref trying to get Suarez sent off should have been booked too.
Edit: we've got a game on here!
Tide has turned now...
FFS!
Arse
Yes, as an ex ref I'd like to see them all sanctioned. Stamp it out.
Edit - city's for the taking now.......
sturridge was so greedy in that break before citys second,a pass would have had suarez in on goal.Good good name and come on Swansea later:)
Never mind, the footballing giant that is Joe Allen is on now 😉
Get in!
Bloody hell Liverpool!
This is going to be tense...
Kompany is bobbins.
Bloody Hell Liverpool!
😯
Crazy crazy game!
Amaaaaaazing.
Hell that was tense.
Skrtel seems to have got away with punching the ball and someone's face - very lucky!
Still, Liverpool are odds on to win the league now!!! 😯
Great game, great result. Well done L'pool!
Skrtel seems to have got away with punching the ball and someone's face - very lucky!
true.
After Andy Carol doing the same, this is pure proof of the universal football law -
it'll even itself out over the course of the season, like.
Shelvey to finish the job for them now?
Great game of football ruined by probably the most spineless refereeing display the game has ever seen missed/bottled giving 4 peno's!! Saurez awful display today should have gone after the Demechelis dive.
Liverpool's to lose now.
Absolute belter of a match that! A few very lucky boys to have stayed on the pitch.
Whoever wins the league this season will have played some great football. Unless it's Chelsea, obviously.
Still got to beat Chelsea. 14 games won would be unbelievable and never before done in the premier league. I think they've already tied the highest number of consecutive games won at 10.
Some telling Stats from the BBC
Top Scorers
29 Suarez(Liverpool)
20 Sturridge(Liverpool)
18 Yaya Touré(Man City)
15 Rodriguez(Southampton)
15 Rooney(Man Utd)
Will come down to nerve though, City should be able to beat/anialate their run in with the exception of Everton. Liverpool have Chelsea who can go top by beating them. So all to play for.
Just spotted this
14 games won would be unbelievable and never before done in the premier league. I think they've already tied the highest number of consecutive games won at 10.
Chelsea won 10 PL games in a row between 19 November 2005 and 15 January 2006
Liverpool won 10 PL games in a row between 29 October 2005 and 31 December 2005
Arsenal won 10 PL games in a row between 11 March 1998 and 3 May 1998
Man United won 11 games in a row between 26 December 2008 and 4 March 2009
Chelsea won 11 games in a row between 25 April 2009 and 20 September 2009
Man United won 12 games in a row between 11 March 2000 and 20 August 2000
Arsenal won 14 games in a row between 10 February 2002 and 18 August 2002
& they're playing Norwich next - the last for league games against them they've scored 18 goals... that'll help the goal difference.
Chelsea showed yesterday why the majority of fans don't want them to win the league.
aye 1 nil up against 10 men and he did a defensive substitute
Jose mind games should be barrel scrappingly bad. for football and humanity, in the run up
Come on Sunderland!
😯 😛
"There's only one Connor Wickham"
bah...
.
Quick edit dirtyrider 🙂
This forthcoming Palace game scares me more than the Chelsea one. We can afford to draw against Chelsea now but we have to beat palace, who are on a bloody roll.
Crazy night of football that. Have Everton blown their chance of UCL footie at Goodison?
FEAR THE CRYSTAL PULIS!
Fricking Pulis!
Might have to hope that they take the foot off a little now that they've reached the 40 point mark.

POSTED 2 DAYS AGO # REPORT-POST
As a true blue I knew tonight's game would be tough but I couldn't see us losing but Palace were the better side helped in some small way Roberto's bizarre team selection. Our Roy of the Rovers team selection allowed Palace to pick us off and barring a miracle that us fighting for 5th and the Gooners safe in 4th.
The title is Liverpools to lose and I just can't see them imploding. Even as a blue I say fair play, they have played the best footie and its a great way to mark 25 years since the Hillsborough disaster and shameful cover up. My only niggle will be having to watch Stevie Me with trophy but hey ho.
Gooners safe in 4th.
*chuckles*
/Arsenal fan.
The best thing about last night is hopefully it should shut Jose Mouthino up about City being favourites because they've got games in hand....
Well, that's that for my lot. Come on Liverpool, get it done... 🙂
Wow. So surprised that City fumbled it. Mental that they are now going to lose it and to a team they never would have worried too much about.
I still think there's a LOT of football left this season and a few more shocks.
Liverpools run in LOOKS viable.. but quite easy to slip up in any of the last 4 games.
Couldn't agree more Weeksy. The last teams you want to be playing at this point in the season are the ones scrapping for their lives at the bottom, because they'll be as motivated as those fighting for the title. I reckon there's going to be a few upsets yet.
As a supporter of a mid-table side with nowt to play for, Its making for a cracking end to the season though 😉
It could very well go down to the final kick, of the final minute of the final match, like it did when City won it

Agreed. Squeaky bum time. 🙂
It's moany joany's visit that I'm dreading.
As someone else up there said, his tactics at Swansea were anti-football. It's shocking to see the football he gets that side to play given the squad he has.
Torres winner (0-1) in the 94th minute, in front of the Kop.
</nightmare scenario>
Yeah if Chelsea do win the title would they have played the worst football of any PL champions?
Yeah if Chelsea do win the title would they have played the worst football of any PL champions?
Maybe since George Graham's Arsenal... *
* Sorry Jimmers. 🙂
Crazy stuff. I wonder where the biter will go next year.
Could it be Man U's year with the biter, the potato and the RVP goal-fest partnership?
Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, don't allow this to happen…
If the Liverpool team need any motivation prior to the Chelsea match, then surely that should do the trick. I really really can't cope with seeing that. Anything but that! 👿
Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, don't allow this to happen…
What if they win and the Special one decides to come to Man U? Would you take that?
United wouldn't put up with the Special One. Either his behaviour, or the appalling type of football he plays
True your better off with Moyes.
The thing is that City and Liverpool are up there because they've both played some fast, at times sublime, and really entertaining, attacking football this season. I don't think you'll find many people saying that about Chelski
