I've never really been interested in it but wanted to contact a person/business through through it.
I try to log in to my old account (must be over 6 years since i used it) now it's locked because of "suspicious activity" now i need to get my "trusted friends" to unlock it for me, these 5 are the only people on my account, from an old job and have no other way to contact them than through facebook.
There is no way to unlock it i give up and make another account.
Made new email for new account (looks like every combination of email address is taken)
logged on to facebook and sent a message to the guy, go make tea and within 5 min locked due to suspicious activity.
I reluctantly gave my phone No. (regretting that now) to get back in but I'm drawing a line at sending a "security selfie", I sent a pic of text saying I didn't want to be in their facial recognition database.
Guessing I'm not getting back in.
It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't already sent a message, and the emails, the send me so many emails that I can't stop, because I can't get in to delete my account(s)!

You need to prove its you they've provided options but you've failed those, they have no idea it's you.

Of course they do, but I thought messenger would be a quicker and simpler way of sending some ideas across without wasting their time, but now hes replying to a message I cant reply to, so I did just waste their time.
Yeah,FB are trying to protect you but.... You are better off without it. It really is a corrosive bit of crap.
You'll be able to get back in in a month's time or so. Facebook will give you more options to choose from in order to validate your account.
I had the same problem but managed to get in even with a fake one-use only email account that I couldn't access at the time. My phone number's not associated with the account and I have no friends on there so don't ask me how I did it but it's definately possible, and that was about three months ago.
4,700 odd days clean. Used it in 2006 then opted out. No chance of reactivating my account now.
Binned it over a year ago. SIL binned it recently as her account was properly hacked by someone spouting ISIS propaganda. Shame we couldn't read arabic. Took an age to get Facebook to bloody close it after numerous reports from friends as well. Daughter's account spammed a couple of days ago, not that she uses it, so thats another gone.
