Looking at replacing the old concrete drive so how does approx £100 / m2 sound ? Remove concrete , Terram type membrane, type 1 200mm, sand screed, blocks 75m2 total started as new path at side of garage 6m2!! Too cheap to be true at £7 k all in?
AFAIK the time is in the prep. Paving lads can expertly clatter down block pavers for fun. BITD when tilers were charging £20m2, block pavers were doing it for £5. Big, hard, skilled lads.
That sounds good. As with any building project, especially where you’re going to have vehicles moving on it the foundations are key. I’ve experience of concrete driveways and I’d use 6” of type one, minimum and 6” of concrete, sometimes reinforced. Block paving whilst it’s good for water absorption does need maintenance.
The depth of type 1 is dependant on ground conditions and I’m guessing you haven’t done any ground investigation. On the face of it 200mm seems excessive and you could probably get away with 100/150mm and save a bit of cash
Mine's about to be about £120/sqm (about twice the size of yours 😬) - digging up and removing the disaster that is currently there, new wall along the front, drainage sorted, tile front step and a couple of bits of fence. I don't know exactly what the price is for just the paving.
