What should we be looking at per square metre? It will have a car parked on it.
It's roughly 7 m by 2m . Was quoted £2800 to dig down 12 inches , lay plant membrane , concrete then blocks.
As we had a far larger area done in the back garden in Indian Sandstone for £4000 it seems excessive.
Surrey prices.

Think we had about 5.5 x 3.5m, some new picket fence, a flower bed (but no planting) and disposal of all the rubbish (lots of concrete flags and assorted rubbish from the previous owners) for about £4,500. London/Surrey prices - Worcester Park

Acyuslkt, might have been a bit more but included the council doing the kerb. Either way it might be a bit high but not too far off. we found there was quite a difference in quotes and proposed methodology

Quick work out whilst lay in bed...

Pack and half of pavers £200
Machine and dumper for the day £200 (if needed)
1 skip £200
6 tonne type 1 £200 (overkill)
Membrane £25
Washed sand x2 £80
Kiln dried £10
Keybond £10
Fuel £20
Two men 1 day to reduce dig and prep £400 (nice rates)

Total £1345

Leaving £1455 to lay.

= £100 Sq/m ish

Or 700 quid each for the second (easy) days labour...

Currently paying £18 sq/m to our lads on site with worked prepped prior by me.

(I appreciate business running costs not taken in to account etc but it's a ****ing high quote)

What's your address 😆

And why concrete?

Doesnt sound far out. We got quotes for our drive a few years ago and it was thousands - 4m x 20m roughly.

Just tarmaccing had me screeching that even I could buy a bike for that!

Nex time I'll ask wrightyson as he's just down the road.

I was trying to "justify" some of the ridiculous quote.
Quick word with the lads on site who are putting me 80 m/sq down in 2 1/2 days and they reckoned it's a good grand over...

Just had a quote from a guy that did my friend's drive of £1400. Sounds reasonable and he does a good job.
