What are folks recommendations for getting up to the site of the aircraft accident on Bleaklow?

I assume it's a boggy job. Probably not so good on a day like today?

Possibly not if you're worried about damp feet. Was up around Kinder yesterday and there's a lot of surface water around, albeit mostly avoidable. I'd expect Bleaklow to be similar with added tussocks. If you do go for it, mind the navigation. The visibility can go quite fast and the guys in the Glossop MRT seem to spend a fair amount of time recovering lost aircraft wreck walkers.

A lot of people wander over from Snake Summit, but the walk up Doctor's Gate or across from the top of Yellow Slacks is more atmospheric plus you can reassure yourself that you're not missing much by not riding the former 😉

It's easiest to go from Snake Pass side, you are on okay paths for a while but there's a couple of wetter sections. I'm not sure what ground conditions on Bkeaklow are like at the moment, but the hills here (about 15 miles north of Bleaklow) are snow free. If you are reasonably happy with navigation then it wouldn't be too bad today.

Thanks all. I'm good with nav, just don't want to spend all day dodging mud and water.

May leave it a bit.

Doctor's Gate - haven't done that bike carrying route in years.
