Doing The Lights tomorrow. Probably in the car as the weather looks a bit crap.

Which way does the traffic flow best?

Ideally I’d like to be through them as fast as poss and back to our Luxury Caravan in Fleetwood (never ask the kids where they want to go for their birthday weekend) with a cold drink in my hand and a DVD on before it gets to stupid o’clock.

As you are in Fleetwood just drive south, turn around and then drive north.

Caravan in Fleetwood. Cala Gran?

West to East.

Fast as you can.

Cala Gran indeed.

We're going to Pizza Express first and parking up near the train station, so I'll have a look at how traffic is flowing. Tried North to South a few years ago and didn't move for 90 minutes. Took the back roads down to the Pleasure Beach and went South to North. Which was great until we got stuck in the grid lock trying to get back to the M55.

Why not just take the tram from Fleetwood down to the tram shed and back again?

Yep, Tram. Its a hugely painful experience in a car.

Becasue we're stopping in the middle for something to eat, and I don't want to be stood about waiting to get back on a packed tram in the pissing rain.

My aunt and uncle used to go on holiday to Fleetwood. They lived in Blackpool. No I never understood it either, maybe just because after a week in Fleetwood Blackpool seemed like paradise.

Blackpool is the worst place I’ve ever been .   Fantastic sea defences and a sea scape of nothing.

I take it you have never had the delights of Bradford then?

Forecast seems to be OK later on now, if that affects your decision!
