Need to spend a sat night in Blackpool for an Earl start for a swimming gala on Sunday morning for my son. Travelogue premier Inn are pricey, anyone know any decent budgetish hotels guesthouses in or near Blackpool for dad and 11year old?

It's for late June.

Cheers

I d avoid Blackpool.

If you are looking for the 24th of June then it looks like something is happening as bookings are high and the yield management software has kicked in

if you can stay further out then the PremierInn Chorley South is 25 miles away and is currently £43.50

i would struggle to recommend anything cheaper in Blackpool....

good of luck at the gala. My first big/important swimming gala was in Blackpool about 36 years ago :-/

The Midland hotel in Morecambe bay has rooms

its ‘only’ about 45 miles away and is ‘only’ about £140 for the night, but is a great place to stay...

if you go there make sure you do the tour. It’s very interesting/entertaining!, but probably less so for the swimmer...

😉

yield management

Love a technical term and that's a new one, thanks!

As above, Blackpool is overpriced for mediocrity. Lytham is a good shout.

Don't stay in any Blackpool hotel especially a budget one if you are travelling with an innocent child. Really, don't.

A pal of mine who does a lot of work on the Fylde really rates this place, which is safely about 35 minutes out of Blackpool:  http://www.guysthatchedhamlet.co.uk/

If you stay at the above link - guys thatched - light ash farm cafe is just down the road.  The queen ate there last year, it really is amazing food and not expensive at all.
