Im looking for a big challenge next year and fancy giving this a go. It's a 55km Nordic Ski finishing in Lillehammer. I figure it's a bit like a sportive as 17000 do it but other than that that's all I know. I've skied cross country a good bit before but nothing this long. Looking for some stories, insights, info. Cheers,
I've only done the USA and Canadian versions so can't comment on the Norwegian one (it's on my list but as I'm now in Canada it's much harder from a logistic perspective).
Is the Norwegian one Skate or Classic? Either way it's quite a long way and don't underestimate the weight of the pack which is notable.
It's really like most other long distance events - train lots; aim to eat and keep going.
If it's classic expect the start to be complete carnage as they take out tracks pretty quickly and people will be pushing in all over the place.
