Wife and MIL are in France bazzing about in a newish Toyota Yaris, the problem is that it's randomly bing bong warning buzzering them to a point where it's doing there heads in.

No lights on the dash so not car system related, does it whether manoeuvring at slow speed to autoroute type speeds.

Car hire place is now a distance away so inconvenient to take back.

Have told her to make sure it's not speed camera positions in the sat nav, speed alert or lane departure warning from reading the Uk owners manual - I reckon it's a physical alert every time she thinks about handbags or new shoes but any other ideas???

If they've got a load of stuff balanced on the seats then it could be intermittently triggering the seatbelt warning as it moves around in the car.

Fromagerie proximity indicator. Fitted as standard on the continent.

No lights on the dash? Is the sound definitely coming from the car then?

Mobile phone warning them they have gone over their roaming data allowance?

Does it have some sort of 'safe distance from car in front' warning indicator. We were in spain last month and had a skoda that kept pinging, I discovered it was a safe distance warning

Bingo.

If they're using the car to ferry luggage / shopping about on the seats, plug in the seatbelts first.

Not sure playing bingo whilst he's driving is a good idea.

I knew why I joined STW, it's been a good few years since this kind of humour has risen to the surface.

Thank you.

Check the speed limit warning. If I thought it was funny to leave it set to 15mph on the last hire car I used, then someone else might have done the same to you...

It'll be a "possible Brexiteer" warning sound.

The buzzer would have worn out and stopped working by now. Next idea.

Nah, that's more of a 'baludum ping...(sucking noises) then some cypress hill, Hits from the bong.

The beat is way off.

I'm going for a rogue seat belt pressure sensor.
