I've always trusted the american media to say the truth. They sent 70 odd troops to 'arrest' him and apparently shot him twice in the head.

70 Navy Seals and they only managed to hit him twice! OK, so that's believable.

But why not photos of his body? We saw Saddam being hung (hanged) so why no youtube video of this one?

I don't doubt his death at all, I somewhat doubt the manner of his death. The US gov would have know that by far the most important aspect of the announcement of his death would be to provide proof, but they don't seem to have gone out of their way to provide conclusive proof, which I find extremely strange.

Consequently I'm not entirely convinced that he died as they claimed he did. The US authorities certainly have form concerning the manipulation of the facts surrounding advents.

There were cases in Iraq such as where it was claimed that film footages showed US troops fighting and taking over a hospital to "free" prisoners, when no such thing had occurred and they had simply walking in.

Recently in Afghanistan US troops claimed that a British hostage was killed by her captors when they had tried to storm their hideout, it later transpired that she been killed by a US soldier who had lobbed a grenade where she had been.

And who can forget the story of Jessica Lynch ? All fully sanctioned by the US authorities, and all complete bollox.

I would not be totally shocked if it turned out that the US had simply exploited Bin Laden's death for their own propaganda purposes, and had come up with this "official story". I remain unconvinced that the US is so sensitive to Islamic cultural needs, that they extend this not only to members of Al Qaida, but to the head of Al Qaida, and they deposed of his body strictly in accordance with Islamic tradition. Unless of course this represents a new more, touchy feely let's hug a terrorist attitude, from the Obama administration.

Well if you had read beyond the first sentence there's a vague possibility you might have understood the point I was making. Or had you read and understood, and simply thought that it would be highly amusing to pretend that you hadn't understood by offering a ridiculous suggestion ? The "I'm a stroppy and awkward teenager who pretends that he doesn't understand what the grown-up is telling him" tactic, which is much loved on STW, and helps to keep discussions firmly at the juvenile level..........I don't know, kids today eh ? 😀

Well that didn't take long :
