This evening I unpacked the food shopping, cooked the tea, and washed up whilst manoevring around a spinning bike and 2 thundering great MTBs in the kitchen. Our road bikes are in the bedroom! Fortunately Mr Pea is a biker too, or else it might cause domestic strife!

There's always bits of bikes and related stuff lying round our house.

I was berated the other week for not having tidied some stuff in the kitchen from the Highand Trail in May.

If I left bikes, even bits of bikes, around the house I wouldn't have any testicles. Or a wife for that matter.

You sound like you have well-sorted priorities vickypea 🙂

Got 4 bikes in the bedroom, a salsa Jaun solo ss/20 yr old Indian Fire Trail mongrel ss road bike and my Cove hummer mtb hanging on the walls and my Tripster at the side of the bed. My bro's alloy tripster is in my living room as i'm just about to strip it down tonight to a bare frame for a pre winter service and i have 3 wheels hanging off a hook in the back kitchen that i need to rebuild/replace spokes/true-up at some point this week for the "jumpy kids" in the town.

And my mother wonders why i'm single? 😉

[img] [/img]

Last week i had a Mk2 Golf 020 gearbox in bits on the table in the corner to replace the selector arms and diff bearings (on a plastic sheet i may add) as i couldn't be arsed heading the 3miles out of the town to my garage/workshop - it's cold up there, there is no espresso machine/fridge/seats/internet etc…etc…. #singleliferocks 😀

Sounds perfectly normal to me . . . 1 in the bedroom, 2 in the hall and 2 and a half in the kitchen 😀

So at least one of your problems would be sorted?

6 in the cellar, rotated one in the dining room ready for commute/Sunday club run/night ride. Upstairs would result in words.

6 bikes in the 'spare room' (aka bike and printing/filing room) at present - occasionally they make their way into the kitchen for tinkering or drip-drying after a ride but they are generally not allowed elsewhere...living in a rented flat with cream carpets is the limitation. When we eventually have our own place it'll have hard floors and bikes EVERYWHERE.

4 bikes taking up (apparently to Mrs Stevego) valuable space in the office. Only 3 are mine though. Another 4 in the carport, the crap bike collection, only one is mine, the commuter, the rest are the kids and wifes bikes.

If it helps, I have 2 in the under stairs cupboard, 1 in the hallway, 1 in the spare bedroom and 1 in the main bedroom, not allowed any in the living room but that might change tomorrow 🙂

Your living room is a retro style milkshake bar Stoner ?

Make sure you get some decent fixings when you put that up on the wall won't you ?

And yes, the cats really have mullered the backs of the chairs.

MTB lives in the loft, along with the wife's bike.

Pal of mine lives with his son in a small cottage. Living room/kitchen contains: 1 x MTB, 1 x BMX, 1x Bicycle trials, 1 x Triumph Tiger 800, 1 x Beta trials bike.
Backyard holds a Honda CRF450 MX bike. Lock up has (currently) a Honda Fireblade, a Honda Firestorm and a CBR600RR track day bike.

Animals;-)

3 in the downstairs bathroom which we don't really use - it's a 'wet room' too which makes for a lovely warm place to clean bike and body in the depths of winter.

It's not ideal, the Wife doesn't really care for it - but after the last lot got nicked from the shed I won't risk it again.

Two in the lobby.
Another 5-6 rotating between spare bedroom-cum shed-substitute and attic.
Mrs M would like me to get rid of some.

Three in the " bike " room one child's in the hall . The estate agent who advertised the house to us called the bike room a third bedroom for some reason.
