Going to Cardiff by train tomorrow. Day out with the missus. Any good bike shops within walking distance of city centre? Road bikes best.

No. None within walking distance of town. Well - depends how far walking distance is. They are probably 20-30 mins away.

What do you have planned?

That's new, there was an electronics section in there last time I looked. Must go and have a look.

The Bike Shed is more than 10 mins away tho, surely?

Certini store has been there since before Christmas. Limited range of pretty good parts Cannondale and Specialized bikes.

Bikeshed is definatley more than 10 minutes walk. I'd say 20.

Take a bus or walk about a mile down Dumballs road to Cardiff Bay. Very nice part of town. Walk over the bay using the pedestrian overpasses it's a beautiful walk scenic to Penarth. Go to Tredz and get your bike fix. Then go have a pint at Pier 64 which is a great bar overlooking the Penarth Marina.
Cardiff is a great place to have a look around.

I wouldn't walk all that way down to the Bay. To Tredz would take you almost an hour easily I reckon.

You're better off hanging around town - castle, the small shops, the park with the river etc. Nice.

Cardiff is where i will be tomorrow, and going to have a look round the Certini store whilw i am there aswell, Went to the Bike Shed today, they are mid refit so spread out a bit, and nothing new in Tredz, But the missus is off visiting friends, so me and the lad are off to town, he hates shopping, but wants to go to the Apple store.

Cyclopaedia as already mentioned, Cryws Road, probably 20 min walk from town max and whilst there Sunset is just down the road. Not been in Sunset for many many years. If you go to cyclopaedia road bikes are upstairs.

Cyclopedia is a fantastic LBS, they always have everything in stock down to the most obscure bolt or fixing you can think of. However it's not a good place to mooch about cos it's tiny and consequently they don't have many bikes in.

Sunset OTOH are not as useful from that point of view but have loads of lovely bikes in stock 🙂
