…Without requiring a degree in advanced tesselation.
I have a Thule velo compact 927 (i think this model) with 3 bike capacity but in reality this barely holds two bikes with a gap between them.
I know the correct answer to this question is a van! But what tow bar mounted racks, with tilt enable 3 or 4 bikes to sit happily together?
I've got a Buzzrack e-something. It's good for long, modern bikes with big wheels and has the weight capacity for cheater bikes.
It's bombproof and holds the bikes quite far apart with no chance of wiggling or scratching.
Cheap option is the Halfords advanced towbar mounted 4 bike - will need modification for 29 inch wheels but is solid and cheap
Thanks all. The buzzrack racer or Halfords look good in terms of 4 bikes and plenty of space between them. But fitting on a LLS 29er with 130cm wheel base vs the 119cm max?
I have a Buzzrack 4-bike rack and four big bikes are solid on it, but you need to pay some attention to the central two on the one I have. The spacing is closer so you will get scratching unless you take care / protect bikes. This issue goes away for 3 bikes. Length I think is fine - I can put a mega 29er on it no bother, there's a lot of adjustment with wheel trays etc.
Very solid and simple to use, tilt mechanism dead easy.
Be surprised if there was much out there that could comfortably space out 4 big bikes. You'd be past the nose weight limit of the tow bar for most cars.
