Am I alone in giving bikes names? I know it's geeky, but if a certain bike feels right and has the character, I end up naming it. My fleet at the moment:
Cotic Soul - 'Anneke' - Named after This lovely lady. Every time I ride it, I just end up singing to myself on descents & she has a mind blowing voice. It just seems to fit the character of the bike to me. I also have a delightful ear worm when I start a ride, the first few minutes of this song
(excuse the video - only youtube entry I could find)
Yeti 575 - 'Eleanor' - named after this: [img]
[/img] from Gone in 60 seconds. Not because it was nicked but because it's a thing of intimidating beauty. I love it dearly but frankly the thing scares me because it's so bloody quick.
Also have a road bike which is un-named. Due to a lack of character. Which is an excuse for a new one 🙂
All my bikes get named after the first ride.
Christine - they all try to kill me in the end
Call mine Talulah
Call mine bike
Mine are called Solaris, Pro6 and Tarmac.
Beefa
My bike has a few different names, depending on what style of crash it's just made me have, what hill it refuses to climb etc etc...
all my bikes end up named.
Over the years, silvia, anthea, snot, cock, swifty, betty, etc.
I'm a litle bit sad and wierd.
