Purchased some lovely rockymounts fork mounts for the van then realised they are only good for 12/15 axles so I need to rethink the bike mounting strategy. Any suggestions on good mounts that I can adapt from 12/15 to 20mm, and to complicate things one bike is non boost? 4 bikes so need to keep an eye on the mount pricing as there are some very expensive mounts out there. Thnx.
I had this problem.
The ZTTO ones do QR, 12 and both 15mm axles.
Nothing does all of those and 20mm.
However, there are adapters like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164748696516 which let you mount the 20mm to the QR mount.
The rocky mount is a 12/15 thru-axle mount so I guess if there were something similar to what you’ve posted that fit between the rocky mount and the 20mm axle, I’d be in business.
Pop one of these in the 15mm mount and then add the 20mm adapter above to it?
Because more adapters the better surely?🤣
I use these in the back of my caddy, you can buy different caps for different axles
I bought some cheap ones off Amazon which seem to be exactly the same as the ones Forty Winks sell for their rail system (I have their rail that I managed to snag seperately). I think they're 20mm non-boost without adapters, then there are adapters for QR, 15mm non-boost and 15mm boost.
As much as it pains me to say it - there are literally tonne of these available on TEMU with every single possible fork combo, in nice machined alloy, free delivery, for tenths of what they cost elsewhere.
Amazon does have 20mm fork mounts without any other adapters for £10.99 - worth just having one of them mounted alongside the more 'adaptable' mounts ?
