You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My lights got to the point where I was thinking of replacing them. My Lumicycle Led3 System isn't as bright as the ones you can get these days and it has a very narrow beam.
My MtbBattery, well, the first one I had stopped working after I rode into the canal late one November night, and the replacement stopped working when I accidentaly shorted it out whilst charging. Frayed wires coming out of the charger shorted together resulting in smoke and a funny smell.
Before throwing them away I thought I'd email Smudge and Lumi. Result: Lumicycle upgraded my light to a current spec 4 Led jobby with much more lumens and a better beam shape. For not much money.
MtbBatteries replaced the protection circuits, tested everything out and replaced the charger. All for not much money also.
I've now got a great night riding outfit, with a spare battery too, and a warm glow from supporting British small businesses, who continue the tradition of providing excellent customer service.
Thanks, guys!
Good to hear some positives, well done all
Not a problem John, Glad to have helped you out and thank you for leaving the feedback on here. Much appreciated 🙂
Regards, Smudge
The other thing with these guys is the feeling of confidence in the lights. I've been through all the generations of lights; big lead acid batteries, over-volted domestic halogen bulbs, HID, right through to £5 Trustfire torches from Dealextreme (which we still have on our pub bikes).
But all the others have a habit of going dark just when you don't want them to: when rattling down a rooty, rocky, twisty path between the trees.
These ones aren't going to let you down like that.
