I have found a product in stock at Bike Inn. Having asked them, they claim that it will arrive without the need to pay additional tax or duty, despite coming from Germany.

Has that been people's experience lately too?

The application of import tax and duty has been a little inconsistent since Brexit, but does anybody have any recent experience with Bike Inn to confirm or contradict their view?

Thanks all!

Yep. Ordered a eggbeater pedal rebuild kit from them a couple of weeks ago. Arrived with no import fees about 4 days later. It was £24 so well under the £135 limit.

Bike inn ship to the UK internally before shipping to you, so duty is already paid. Takes a bit longer to get to you though.

Bought a fair bit from them, never had to pay extra.

I put a thread up a few weeks ago. Bought a very good price X01 AXS upgrade kit from them. Paid £20 for 2 day DHL and didn’t pay a penny more than site price.

No duty, surcharge or anything

I believe that bikeinn have warehouses/distribution centers in lots of different EU locations (one reason they have lots of stock) & like tomhoward said they import items to their UK distribution point prior to shipping to you. So duty is already paid and you won't get any additional fees over the adverted price and shipping.

If it's in stock in the UK it should only take a couple of days, however I have had items from them in the past that have take 4 weeks or more.

Tried to order a GX cassette from them twice.

On both occasions the delivery dates kept being moved out to the point i just cancelled.

Bike Inn saying it’s in stock and them actually having stock are very different things.

Interested in the £135 limit, where does that come from?

Contemplating a whole purchase from Bolster as can't find what she wants in stock in the UK. They claim the ticket price includes all vat a taxes too.

It appears the buying from within the EU is becoming a thing again.

Used them twice. Both below the £135 cut off first item arrived reasonably quickly. Second time they kept pushing delivery date back so cancelled and bought from bikester instead.
