My first "proper" MTB was a Marin Muirwoods - circa 1999 with Manitou Magnum forks, ovation V brakes. Managed to buy an identical frame to hang on the mancave/garage wall on ebay. Quite excited really.
So what you got hanging.....
Nothing yet, but it's entirely possible the GT Fury will end up there in a couple of years time.
My 2004 Specialized Enduro frame hangs in our front room.
I've asked SWMBO if I can hang my custom painted 2014 Stumpy Evo up too, but this has been vetoed. I've no choice but to rebuild the bike, all I need is a pair of 140-150mm 29er forks and I'm good to go.
Buying someone else's frame just to hang up!? That's pretty bizarre, if you don't mind me saying 😀
I've got a Yeti 575 dangling from a hook in the garage. Not sure how decorative it is, but its a place to hang workshop gloves.
Not MTB but we had these up in the stairwell a few years ago-
L-R, 1999 GT Mach One, Pro Series XL and Interceptor, the three steel dirt/race BMXs made that year. Now all sold (wish I still had the Pro Series- aaaargh!) but my OH now has his 1997 GT Pro Freestyle Tour where the Pro Series was and I've got my 1999 DK General Lee 24 where the Interceptor was 😎 Map of the world covers the holes where the Mach One hanger was above the window!
I like frames and bikes hanging up in Cafes/Shops,would never dream of putting anything up in the house, would just look (to me) a bit odd.
I broke my front triangle (got it replaced under warranty) and I turned it into a lamp...

I have a cracked sts frame i could do something with.
Will clean it up and have a look.
Probably have a second cracked one in a few years if i ride the built up sts much
@kayla1 that is a lot of '99 GTs!

Just to make you jealous (maybe?), I picked up a '99 Pro Series XL last year that I'm currently rebuilding. The paint was knackered so I've had it done in candy red metallic and I'm putting '95 stickers on it. GT bars/forks and OG wheels, Profile everywhere else. Arguably the last proper steel race frame GT ever made, and weirdly with Reynolds 631 tubing.
I'd probably still swap it for a Pro Freestyle Tour though!

Yep! It actually rode really nicely too.
We had this for a while on the living room wall-
NOS 1997 Pro Performer (Euro version of the Pro Freestyle Tour, 100% 4130)
which was replaced with this-
1995 Fueler.
You can't keep 'em all!
That lamp one reminds me of a comedy sketch thing - Dave Gorman was it? about one of those repurposing scrap programmes on day time telly. "Lamp or not lamp?"
Here it is
😀
I'll be putting my 853 on one on the wall if I ever stop riding it
Also my burton fish 04
