Ive just got a new vw crafter, im looking at putting a pullout drawer for the bikes. Anyone have any recommendations for which runners i need, im guessing they need to be lockable so that the whole thing dosent slide about.

I used Intafit 1500mm ones from Eurofit.

If I was starting again though I’d look at the Thule Veloslide as my whole setup is really heavy, I made the tray from 12mm ply.

It does work really well though, and probably takes up less width that the Thule

Nice drawer thats what i had in mind. Not sure if i want to spend as much as the pricey thule

I went with roller bearings in metal channel known as Unistrut. They don't telescope, but the total cost of my home-brew effort was about £80 not a few hundred.

my whole setup is really heavy, I made the tray from 12mm ply.

Time to get the holesaw out!

Whats the recommended mount for the fork as well will need to fit a verity of bikes from road to boost mtbs

I got some mounts from Blok Pod with different end caps. Worked a treat.

To the comments about price, it's probably unavoidable, wood prices are silly daft at the moment.

I do have a sheet of ply left over from doing the roof of my shed so wood price is sorted

Ah, winner. I used a wood co-op near me and got off cuts which helped. Runners are always the pricier part, I was lucky to get a set second hand from a buddy. Very similar to the one's Phil mentioned in his post.

I have just seen some runners on aliexpress £100 for 1200mm ones so might take the gamble and buy them
