Off travelling round Europe with the motorhome and want to protect my pride and joy. The usual offerings from Fammia/Thule get slated in the reviews anybody found anything good for use on a rear mounted rack?

Id go tarp folded in half and some cord through the loops to secure.  Won’t be 100% wproof but nothing will be anyway. At least will be hard wearing and in theory easier to fit.

im gonna do same having given up on a cheap £8 ebay fitted job. Has avoided lots of abuse but too much of a faff to fit.  From what I can tell the branded fiamma ones are basically same as what I’ve got, just paying premium for fiamma name.

Also interested in this to protect the bike form the worst of the road spray in wet or winter BUT I use an Atera rack so the cover would need to incorporate the arms which hold the bike in place and I think It's looking like a bit of a faff whichever cover I go for.

Search for motorhome bike rack covers

i use a taylormade, now 4 years old is partly faded but still sound has 2 rear slits to fit fiamma 2 bike rack arms , I believe they do other rack configurations ( fairly easy to cover bikes singlehanded and it ‘fits’ the rack arms )

I use a long kanulock strap (locking tie strap) around it to stop flapping and as extra security looped over wheels thru rack over front wheels and down to base of front of rack

I've got a Fiamma cover in the loft, only used on one trip. Because of how the rack is fitted it blocked the view in the rear mirror, so I wasn't keen on using it again. It did work well though.

If you're interested OP I'll dig it out and check the size. It will be cheap.

put the bike inside when on the move? stick it on the rack when you need to use the rear of the van?

This Taylormade ones do look good, thought they might been more expensive too. Makes sense to keep salt off through the winter - will be getting one

Do they go underneath as well? I suspect a lot of the crap comes from under the car that gets sucked up...a good idea and I'd be tempted by 1 as well, even to just hide the make of bike to hopefully make them less of a target for thieves.
