Those Typhoons go quite high - saw one up through 30k, 40k, 50k - now down again.
U2 coming up over Stoke on Trent
Antonov An-225 Mriya (biggest aircraft in the world) just flew West to East from Ireland over Newcastle, currently heading out to North Sea.
F35 Lightnings also playing around in Norfolk
U2 at 60K feet heading east over Denmark atm too
U2 at 60K feet heading east over Denmark atm too
Good spot, that is the first time I've ever seen one on the site
Can't see the U2 anymore, but there is an RAF Typhoon heading east over Poland. Seems to be way out of it's usual stomping ground of the N Sea, it's also on a similar track to the U2, albeit 30000ft lower.

There are RAF Typhoons based in Lithuania at the moment

Not tracking that one but was looking at flight radar this morning about 9 checking our our Monday crew change chopper flight and noticed a Norwegian crew change chopper south east of us doing a strange flight pattern (circling) for about half an hour a thought it a bit strange. For reference we are right on the division between UK/Norwegian sectors due east of Edinburgh
Lots of activity off the NE coast of Norfolk, two Boeing KC-135 tankers flying patterns outside of normal Air to Air Refuelling Areas.
There's a F-15 down. I guess they're looking for the pilot.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-53051055Yep, I wondered what the hell was going on, there was suddenly a massive search type pattern being flown by two K35 refuelling tankers and an E3 AWACS.
Hunter out and about from Scampton by the looks of it:

There’s still a USAF KC-135 Stratotanker out in the North Sea, and an RC-135 Rivet Joint surveillance and communications jet out there as well. I haven’t seen any specifics yet, so I don’t know if the pilot ejected safely. Hope so. 😕
Still no news on the pilot but they've found the crash site.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-53051055
Sadly not good news. The pilot has been found and didn’t make it.
Guardian reports that pilot has been found dead.
Sad news, that. ☹️
Q4 @55000 ft and it isnt an Audi. Flying over Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo sort of area
Quick google suggests it's a Northrop Grumman RQ-4 Global Hawk

Large number of Chinook flights up and down the valley this week. Pairs every evening, then this morning 4 of them flew up in an offset line about 100 foot up. Very impressive but no camera! 2 hours later 2 of them came back down the valley, so I have no idea what they did with the other 2.
Pic from the patio!
Hell of a lot of military fighters flying today and counted 3 sentrys also so far.
A chopper flew past work today, thought it was a Chinook at first because of the noise, but it was a single-rotor. Then I realised it was a Bell UH-1 Huey, not something you see every day! According to the flight tracker, it carries the registration and call-sign ZT067, (I forgot to take a screen shot, so I think that’s it’s number), anyway, it had taken off by the A303 somewhere down near Mere, headed up past Calne, then was flying around a lot very close to Brize Norton.
I know of only one Huey flying in the U.K. that carries a military number, and that one came back from the Falklands after the Argentinian Army abandoned it. Quite made my day seeing it. 😁
Just did some checking, a captured Huey is flying as a civilian aircraft G-HUEY, but the one I saw today had a military number, so I’m not entirely sure the provenance of it now.
Seems like half the Belgian F16 fleet are playing today. Couple of Voyagers joining a UK and Lux E3 Sentry too. Good job I’ve got an all staff teleconference this morning...
Couple of Chinooks and other military helicopters over Skipton yesterday.

More UK Huey info here: http://www.huey.co.uk/
Flights are available.
U2 at 60,000ft over Denmark now. Yes, I am working...
U2's following the M5 now, just past Gloucester.
Had a Lightning and an Osprey fly over Banbury today.
On a smaller spy plane scale the RAF B350 are quite busy circling around the Salisbury planes area.
Although today it isnt accompanied by a osprey.
Nothing military flying anyway in the UK right now, except a Lancaster and Hurricane. Has ADS-B Exchange entered a time warp? Very cool.
Heading towards Leighton Buzzard with a Spitfire.
Watched a U2 (as in actually, not on the interwebz) come in to land at Fairford on Friday night, then saw it take off again on Saturday morning.
saw the lancaster on this evenings ride, it was preceded by a hurricane when i saw it. it's really surprising how low it was.
Saw 4 military tankers late last week on ADS-B flying in a line up the east coast. Last night was weird (before the midnight covid rules) as about 7 flights all flew in to Manchester within 20 minutes of midnight, tracked on ADS-B and seen over my house - never seen it that busy. One after the other, with the last landing at 11.57, then no other flights. Mad dash.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) look out on ADS-B for a joint exercise over Cornwall with 3 Hawks vs a Eurofighter, attacking a frigate
Busy night tonight, lots of Euro fighters about flying.
Eurofighters and F35s streaming down to Cornwall! But it's cloudy FFS
Have a search now on ADS-B for G-PRXI, it's the Spitfire being used to do the flypast of NHS hospitals to say thank you. Currently heading to Yeovil.
I saw that G-PRX1 Spit fly past the front window earlier today on its way from Wolverhampton to Telford hsopitals. OK, not quite 'past' the front window, he was at about 1500ft at the time, but the noise made me look up just the same. The schedule was a visit to the West Mids and Marches this morning, then Avon/Somerset & S Wales this afternoon.
Big Jet TV live on FB showing a U2 being loaded up at Fairford. Well worth a watch but I suggest you turn volume down so you don't have to listen to the idiot commentating
Interesting how many non uniformed guys are hanging around the aircraft, perhaps a reflection on it being a CIA asset?
Looks like the U2 about to take off
U2 just getting readied for departure from Fairford. Big Jet TV also live on YT
B52 taxiing as well
There's been a lot of b52 activity at Fairford, indeed three have just flown overhead post take off.
Someone's been a naughty boy, three B52s just left Fairford in a rough formation, heading North West. Only one of them shows up on the ADS-B site as an unidentified aircraft
Yep, saw them over Cirencester. They never appear on ADS-B, at least whenever I look for them.

This 707 with a little hat flew over after lunch, doing circuits at DSA after hanging around over the North Sea.
There's currently two B52s doing big loops around Gloucester/Cheltenham at 10000ft. On ADS-B.
They were out by Gdansk when I looked earlier today. Been a lot of military flying across a few countries past few days.
On a side note saw a military convoy of about a dozen trucks this morning coming off the A14 a few Rapier launchers and gubbins being towed.
In the garden yesterday saw more than normal, 2 apaches, a Hercules and a lynx in 10 mins.
There was an Apache flying over Dundee on Wednesday afternoon. Never seen one over this way before, I’m guessing it was from Leuchars, did a few circuits round bottom of the Kingsway before heading off. Nice little treat as I miss the military aircraft presence that came with R.A.F Leuchars.
This is coming up:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-5426439 9" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Joint Warrior
Could be some interesting stuff appearing on the tracker. (Although stuff up here in the Highlands doesn't tend to show up.)
Big old Antov took off from Brize Norton.
Achtung! Spitfire!
https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=43c396
Coningsby/Lincoln way, not really out and about.
Did anyone see the fleet of 9 US tankers taking off earlier? Left Mildenhall in very close convoy, flew north toward Durham then all peeled off to fly around over North Sea. It must have been some sight to see them all departing near enough on top of each other
Achtung! Spitfire!
Perhaps a photography session. Two Spitfires flying dozens of loops with another (non-BBMF) aircraft.
Boeing E-3B Sentry flying over the South East now
There's a hawker hunter tracking near Oxford at the moment.
Saw both the BA 747's this morning out on their last flights from Heathrow. One was doing laps of and the other had just landed at Saint Athan Airport near Cardiff
I noticed a strange flight yesterday, and it was a Border Force drone (G-TEKV), I didn't even know they had one
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/gtekv#25b43420
Lots up in the air today!
3 35KR tankers out of Mildenhall flying towards Cornwall all 3 about 28,000ft.
Is Trump starting his pre election shitstorm?? The three tankers are over the French coast near Marsailles followed not too far behind by a 747 E-4 Advanced Airborne Command Post, all on the same bearing. God help us!!!
Three tankers also coming into Mildenhall having been into the Atlantic in the same location as the 747 E-4!!
I expect there's been quite a bit of activity at Dorset for that SBS operation on the tanker today.
Actually that would be funny, cos likely none of the stowaways would have ever considered their arrest, would be other than a couple of London Bobbies they've seen on TV, only to be confronted by a team of special forces loaded for bear.
A lot of urine spilled this day I reckon.
I would think this is a would be 'refugee' attempt, rather than an attempt to nick it and sail it to the Caribbean.

BBMF Lancaster up over Cambridgeshire
Bit too addicted to ADSB-Exchange when I should be working...
1. Are the F-15s based at Mildenhall / Lakenheath or do they come over for short periods over the year? You don't see them up often.
2. Why are there always Chinooks flying over central London, sometimes in two's?
3. Does everyone else find it frustrating when an aircraft you're tracking randomly disappears!?
Grew up in Lincolnshire in the 80's, everyday you'd see lightning's, Canberra's, Tornadoes, A-10s, Jags and the like, I now live in South Wales which is aweful for aircraft! I've still never seen an actual Eurofighter in the wild!
Was also a massive fan of Mildenhall airshow in the early 90s getting signatures of the stealth fighter and Blackbird pilots, shame they're not still going, I'd have loved to take my lads.
Pretty sure F-15's are permanent at Mildenhall, but they don't show up on Flight radar. They take off early, so if you're cycling at Thetford you get an earful, and they return mid afternoon over my house.
Ah thanks, they showed today, looks like the did a pass of the Mach loop this afternoon
F-15s are Lakenheath, not Mildenhall. It’s the KC-135’s, Ospreys and varying flavours of C-130’s that are based at Mildenhall.
Yes, always get them mixed up, they're pretty close.
I think the diference is Mildenhall is logistics, cargo, refueling etc and Lakenheath is the fighter wing with F15s and (soon) F35s; BigJetTV do frequent YouTube live streams from there, that's also very addictive.
2. Why are there always Chinooks flying over central London, sometimes in two’s?
I think often they are heading to and from RAF Odiham near Basingstoke from Colchester and parts there about as thats where the air assault forces are based.
Thanks for the Odiham info, I always paid more attention the the Aircraft rather than the helicopters as a kid, didn't realise they were based there
Yea, I'm a bit addicted to ADS as well. You can get some interesting flight paths and aircraft at times. Watched a UK Euro fighter fly down the coast of Israel Saturday evening and cut inland just before the Gaza strip and last week a US Boeing E-4 Advanced Airborne Command Post went over.
Yep, I live near Hook and do see Chinooks, often in pairs coming over from Odiham. Sometimes with a landy hanging down below.
Used to live very close to AWE and we always had Chinooks coming very low over the house, used to shake the windows and we could see the pilots faces smiling down.
Most days its just Learjets going into Blackbush
