So over lockdown i ended up buying an inflatable hot tub but in the absence of a large enough patio space it ended up on the lawn. Its not time to pack away said hot tub for winter however im going to be faced with a 1.8m x 1.8m patch of soil.........any suggestions of a quick and easy way to hide this mess?

Cheers

A frozen sausage = 2.5cm diameter
180 / 2.5 = 72
72 x 72 = 5184 sausages
8 sausages in a pack = 648 packs of sausages @ £2.50 each = £1,620.00
1 x hammer = £10

Problem sorted for £1630.00

Sausages sounds like a great idea but i don't want the rats that come to eat them later 🙂

I agree with the suggestion of a 13ft trampoline but, failing that you haven't much choice but to reseed it. Get it down right now, be far enough south and with the luck to get some relatively pleasant weather and it might start to take this side of winter. Otherwise it will remain like that and the new seed (assuming it isn't all eaten by birds) should germinate in early spring.

Just seed it, takes 5 mins, it'll grow back slowly over autumn/winter.

Might have to be Spring to re-seed.

Word of advice. Try and get the tub down and packed away when it's warn - i.e. the plastic. Ours is an Intec and it has really robust sides, but they didn't like being folded and stored - ended up with a couple of tiny holes at a 'sharp fold' Repaired these though with strong glue. Also store the motor somewhere warm and dry - they don't like a dry but cold garage.

Ours is up all year now in a covered gazebo with walls to three sizes and left 'on' - MrsF uses it regularly. Not had any issues other than the ceramic spindel that the pump impeller runs on snapping. Had a spare from the warranty replaced motor (the one left over winter in a cold garage) - these can be replaced with copper spindles.

@fossy cheers, aye prob left it a little too late in the year but never mind needs must i suppose......try get it put away over the weekend and then work on what to do with the mess that's left behind. Might just thrown some gravel down for now as will need to patio the area for next year but just wanted a quick solution so I'm not looking at soil over the start of winter

How about a nice 'fake stone'Patio from the local garden centre. Over the winter you can have flower pots/tubs on it. In the summer spread a layer of sand over it and reinstall the Hot Tub

I just reseeded about 2 weeks ago in North East Scotland.

Its growing pretty good already.

Just give it a rake and get some seed on it

The yanks spray paint their lawns green if they are in drought/desert areas. Genuinely 🙂 Apparently the lawn care guys will do your entire brown lawn!

That seems a good idea to me, then next Spring you can stick your filthy sex pond back on top of it 😉

Why bother seeding/turfing if the sex pond is going back? Start the paving now.
You’ll wait until spring to do it, then we’ll have a warm spell and you’ll want to use the tub before you’ve got the patio area done.

Just leave the sex tub in place, we don't pack ours away and have had no issues, you do more damage folding them up. We just store the pump away just to protect from frost.

our garden was knackered a month ago, football goalmouth and a big paddling pool had finally seen to it.

I raked out all the moss and thatch I could, by hand (should have got a scarifier but meh, the blisters soon healed!), loosened up the compacted areas and dressed with some topsoil and compost mix, and then reseeded.

The other thing I did was cover it all with 'germination sheet' - you can get these online at a cost but an online search to a sports field / groundsman forum and a few were saying that scaffold netting was the same at a fraction of the price. So I got 50m of that instead (£40 i think from Screwfix) and covered the lot - it holds moisture in, keeps temperature up, and keeps the birds off. I was a wee bit sceptical at first but the seed germinated in 5 days (7-10 on the pack); was poking through the net after a week and the net came off after 2 weeks to reveal a lush new lawn.

Front is now getting the same treatment.

I'm with zippy on this. Lawns are rubbish, just get rid of all the grass and fill the garden with hot tubs and sausages.

How about a 1.8m diameter coil of cumberland sausage?

Set the garden on fire, that way it will all be dead, tell the fire service you were performing a controlled burn.

Glad i posted this, some killer responses. Might just do what the Mrs has told me and make a start on the 3 areas of patio she wants laying over winter ready for next summer including one for the filthy sex pond

fill the garden with hot tubs and sausages.

Whilst I'm a big fan of a nice lawn, I reckon multiple hot tubs interspersed with sausages hammered into the ground would be ideal.
