I don’t want to risk buying an easy Chineesy fake charger.
Any of you guys recommend a better safe after market charger with say USB’s in the brick.
The eBay one seem dangerous and the Apple one seems a bit pants...
Anker are good and reliable.
We've got a couple of the multi socket ones.
I have one of these, used it to charge the kids tablets for the past few months with no problems. Found it handy on the odd occasion we’ve been away too.
I'll second an Anker charger (and leads for that matter). Similar to Phil above I've had a 4-USB multi charger for ages (>2yrs) and its not put a foot wrong.
Cheap and seemingly cheerful.
HTH
If you are wanting to charge an iphone or iPod, use one designed for an iPad. Roughly halves the charging time, not had any issues with battery longevity either
It never pays to skimp on a phone/pad charger, there have been quite a few fires blamed on iPhones, but in every case it’s been caused by the cheap eBay charger the phone was plugged into. The same can happen with any phone with a Li-ion battery.
Anker, Belkin, or other known makes are all worth buying, I’ve got Apple, Belkin, Griffin, most are years old, and have never caused any issues.
Anker yup.
Anker USB Charger PowerPort 5 (40W 5-Port USB Charging Hub) Multi-Port Wall Charger for iPhone 6s / 6/6 Plus / 5 / 5s, iPad Air 2 / mini 3, Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge and More https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00VTI8K9K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_11JRCbGJWGQ4W
We have to get ours PAT checked at work and the sparks always say even the proper apple ones are some of the worst.
Anker. Tick.
Syncwire 4 port USB (2xiPad, 2xiPhone outlets) is very good. I’ve got 2, one is about 4 years old and has done well over 3 iPhones.
Different international plug sections slot in - neat if you keep them somewhere safe.
The 3 usb plugs from Ikea, They were about £7.50 iirc (edit £8 now). I bought quite a few of them and they're brilliant. Also some internet electrical guru took one apart and said they were one of the best put together plug chargers he'd ever seen. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/smart-home/chargers-batteries/koppla-3-port-usb-charger-white-art-40415031/
Safest way to buy is buy either off a known uk retailer or if buying from amazon limit the search to only show items that amazon uk is selling.
There are a lot of Chinese companies masquerading as uk sellers on amazon / complete with uk names and addresses but the goods are actually sent from China and in most cases are unsafe even if they do have the CE mark on them.
Anker again here. Work well, quite small and relatively well priced too.
Anker 4 socket one comes with a changeable euro plug too, which is quite handy
Yep I have 2 Anker 4 ports and both have been faultless.
