Final Season
Ohh is it back on ive been waiting.
Brill! It really is top notch telly. When they announced the first series my expectations were pretty low, but its turned out to be brilliantly done
Final season, ohh noooo
"This concluding season will be split it two parts with the first seven episodes coming to Netflix 19th April, followed by the last six episodes on July 12, 2022. The apparent reason for the split is to nominate each half of the season for different Emmy Awards seasons, as the first half would be eligible for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2022, while eligibility for the next year's ceremony begins in June.
That definitely sounds like something Jimmy would approve of!"
Yes!
Very nearly didn’t happen as Bob Odenkirk had a close run in with the grim reaper.
Slippin’
Ace!
Yessss. S’all good, man.
That trailer looks fantastic.

All the seasons are a slow lead-up to Season 5. Which was literally breaking bad. Just earlier days. Left on an unbelievable cliffhanger.
Season 4 was also pretty good - a lot of main characters by then.
Yes.
There's a couple of slow seasons but it gathers pace, as a good and well meaning guy just trying to do his best sells his soul becoming a moral blank space and spirals into crime, very entertainingly. In fact I think they ripped off that series, what was it? Breaking Bad. That was it.
With cinematography and characters this good I could handle the slow stuff. But yeah as a roller coaster we’re definitely in the high-speed upside-down section.
I really enjoy it, a bit slower than breaking bad but definitely not worse. I think I'll have to start from the beginning again as it's been a while so I've forgotten a lot
Excellent. Cheers for the heads-up.

Same here. At least the last few of Series 5.
a bit slower than breaking bad
To say the least.
I love the series, as frustrating as it is some times. I've gotten over the fact I really wanted a Saul Goodman comedy series, but it does look as if the last series will be as much about flash-forward Saul's redemption than 'young' Saul catching up to the start of Breaking Bad.
I think it's now better than Breaking Bad. Everyone has got more experienced and it shows.
Can't wait. Although not wanting it to end.
What do we make of the theory that meth head Wendy in BB is actually a degenerate Kim Wexler!? 😀

It's a different show. I prefer BB, but BCS is a good show in its own right. It's not a requirement to like both.
Excellent.Thanks for posting.

I think it’s now better than Breaking Bad.
I think it's better because of BB.
I love the way that you can get ambushed with some new piece of back story detail about an old character. It then ends up (for me) adding more weight to some of the original Breaking Bad scenes.

Kim Wexler. End of discussion.
Fantastic. The last season was shown weekly at the same time as the first lockdown. It was the genuine highlight of a depressing time.

Kim - great character, awesome actor, all-round appeal, absent from BB - #prayforKim +1

I doubt anything bad happens to her, in at least a physical sense. The Saul in BB would have been very different if she'd been murderered.
My guess, and this is something folk often forget, is as well as telling his historic story, there's that current world element where he's on the run and is working at the Cinabon place. My hunch is he seeks out Kim in the current day to try and resolve his post Walt situation
Kim Wexler. End of discussion.
+ Mike.
Yeah the Cinnabon thing will get an explanation although it’s evident it’s a post-BB hiding place

Mike Ermentrout (sp?) is surely one of TV's greatest characters.
Brilliant. I did wonder if they would be able to finish filming after his health scare.
I rate it much better than BB. Superb TV.
Is it all too much to cram into one final season?
Last season is in two parts (13 episodes).
Mike in Beverley Hills Cop (goon #1) - NSFW, NSFK, shooty

What do we make of the theory that meth head Wendy in BB is actually a degenerate Kim Wexler!? 😀
suit yourselves
Mike Ermentrout (sp?) is surely one of TV’s greatest characters.
Jesse Pinkman too. He was originally written just for S1, not meant to be a major character, with Tuco Salomanca intended to be WW's partner. The actor who played Tuco got a better gig so they killed him off. Pinkman was such a hit they rethought it and made him WW's partner.
I don't actually watch much TV these days. I mean I have the TV on but I don't really concentrate on much and often do other stuff at the same time. I kind of thought I might be over BCS even though I loved it and rate it higher than BB which I also loved. I struggled with series 5 too which I think wasn't written by the original guy (might be wrong). That trailer has reignited my enthusiasm for it though! Can't wait. Might watch 5 again in preparation.
I think I'll find it sad though. Jimmy deserved so much more than he got.
Brilliant series, a real grower and worth sticking with. Just gets better and better.
I fancy a spin off that follows Kim’s story.

In that case I'll get back on it! :o) Thank you.
Episode one is tonight apparently.
Yep 👍
Episode one is tonight apparently.
Is it an episode a week?
Is it an episode a week?
Yeah that’s what Netflix says, but they appear to have put two out this week?
Thanks for the heads up. Will watch it tonight.
Just the first 2 episodes up so far. I like to wait 🙂
Yeah that’s what Netflix says, but they appear to have put two out this week?
Streaming providers often do that.
E1 was as great as ever but I wish I’d refreshed myself as I took a little long for me to recall what happened.
After a cursory glance at the episode list, I think I need to rewatch the last couple of episodes of S5. The last I remember was Jimmy wandering in the desert half-dead.
i did watch the final ep of S5 again last night before the two new ones... definitely worth your while!
👍 ta.
Yeah if you can certainly do that.
Apparently the first episode is a two parter. I watched a season 1-5 recap on YouTube which was useful and was only 20 minutes.
Watched the first two last night. Brilliant. Building up to a superb finale.
I'm getting distinct "Kim is the bad apple" vibes
I think at best Kim is banged up for a very long time, mayyybe in hiding but probably banged up or dead.
The curious case of Benjamin Ehrmantraut is getting a bit of a stretch to take seriously....

Runs in the family though, his granddaughter is practically a time lord.

Ummm, sorry but….
I'm trying to like it but it just seems really dull. Is it just me?
It's not dull, it's just a very slow build up. Patience is key
I thought
Am I misremembering?
His name was mentioned but he didn't appear in person.
I thought that too, so much so I had to Google the cast list
Rhea Seehorn (Kim) Directed last night's episode which was all over the shop but eventually connected the dots, and had one or two brilliant scenes.
Ep3 Rock and Hard place - was fantastic though.
BCS is one episode a week as it shares a deal with the cable channel AMC, rather than being totally exclusive to netflix.
It’s not dull, it’s just a very slow build up. Patience is key
Absolutely, it takes time to piece things together, often goes off at a tangent and uses minimal dialogue.
It's totally unique and refreshing, and the tonal shifts can often catch you off guard (whimsical humour one minute and cartel bloodshed another.)
I absolutely love it for being so utterly true to itself.
But it's not got wide appeal in the same way some series have.
(The cinematography is fantastic too.)
I don't think my #prayingforkim has helped, she's trapped in Jimmy's orbit with the last of her goodness being hacked away. It's going to end badly.

They seem as bad (or good) as each other at this point.
Great to see BCS again anyway, even with the Howard sub-plot ringing a bit false at this point, it's still head-and-shoulders above most TV.
The curious case of Benjamin Ehrmantraut is getting a bit of a stretch to take seriously
I'm hoping the next spin-off show is about Mike as a younger man, played by the same actor obvs.
The last one was super Kim is just as bad a jimmy. she knows......
As for spin offs mikes story as a cop? But it's all about Gus Fring for me that man has a past.

Obvs.
But it’s all about Gus Fring for me that man has a past.
They did cover the reason he hates the cartel so much in a previous series of BCS, his former partner (business & romantic) was killed by Don Eladio & Hector.
Maybe a series about him as a younger man in Chile though? Still played by Giancarlo, naturally.
😀
Can see it ending with Salamanca killing Kim
Me too cougar. Could have sworn it and also resorted to Google to be put straight... Weird.

Yep, it reminds me of Westworld. Lots of fantastic actors and scenes, but utter nonsense if you stop to think about the details.
The whole show is ‘what happened to Kim?’ for me now, since we know the future of all the other characters.
I’m hoping she goes off and is reunited with Jimmy in the Cinnabon future.
Can see it ending with Salamanca killing Kim
I dont think so as Saul/Jimmy is the same personality/character wise in BB and doesnt come across as someone who's wife was killed by cartel.
Maybe Kim goes into hiding like Saul did?
When does Saul meet the guy that makes people disappear?
Howard learns of Kim's part in Jimmy's schemes against him, flies into a rage (based on part on the feelings of love he's had for her but been unable to voice) and kills her with a blow from an overstarched shirt just collected from dry cleaning by Kim's old pa
I loved Saul/Jimmy's Howard disguise and the complement from his accomplice on his hairdo. Kim's deepening enthusiasm of the bad stuff and her eagerness to do the pro-bono work is a nicely worked-up thread but which way will she go...?
Maybe Kim goes into hiding like Saul did?
When does Saul meet the guy that makes people disappear?
That’s going to be a bit of a struggle to bring his character back 😉
Saul to kill Kim in choice between love and crime.
That's my theory.
i just think the Saul from early Breaking Bad episodes would be less chipper if Kim was dead...?
cant really see any other outcome tho sadly, Lalo is still on the prowl...
