Best way to speak to a human at FedEx?

Got the usual import duties/handling fees/VAT email from FedEx but the breakdown has me due to pay £130+ VAT on some cranks and other bits & bobs from the US, total cost of all items and shipment was £224. Import duty is ~£30 which I can put up with but unless there's a new 50+% VAT rate I'm not aware of they've definitely got that bit wrong.

Any ideas how I can speak to an actual FedEx human being to sort this out?

Literally the first Google result:

FedEx UK Phone Numbers and Emails
Customer Service:
+44 345 600 0068
Domestic Support
+4 480 028 9747
Freight
+44 345 607 0809
International Support

I assume you want the latter. Does that not work?

Beaten to it; 30 seconds to find the full set of contact numbers.

Aha. I never actually thought to Google it, was just getting frustrated with the chatbot merry go round on their website.

Will give it a go, cheers

Ages ago I ordered a CD and a paperback book from an American singer/songwriter, and the carriage, duty and vat on the duty, plus a Post Office handling charge on top more than doubled the cost - I think it was about $19, but it cost me over £30! 🤬

Do they not just whack on a handling charge as well these days?  Might be that

I've just paid a Fedex import bill, and handling charge was £12.75.

You may have to argue the duty/VAT with Customs, as they're the ones who calculate them. Fedex simply process and pass the bill on.

Is the actual value of the items £224?<br />If Customs are on the ball and your delivery gets inspected, they can adjust the value to what they see as market value. I.e. if you've bought something that a quick google reveals should typically cost £200, yet the customs invoice only says £100, they can base the import duty and VAT on the £200.
