What the best 3 season sleeping mat.

I currently have a Vango Trek 3 which is fine.

I need a second one and I've been looking at the cheaper Thermarest Neoair ones?

Whats your opinions? Any others I should consider? No ore than £75

Thanks

Craig

We love our multimat. We're old and I'm 95kg but it's very comfortable.

What you using it for.

Carrying it a neoair hard to beat for weight and pack size.

If not carrying any distance then a fat self inflater is fine and comfy + warm

I've been through a few but for bike/backpacking I'm currently favouring the Exped Synmat UL.

I love my Exped synmat winterlite, thick and toasty warm while still being super lightweight. Slightly over budget but not crazy, and if you are a cold sleeper like me then the extra expense is worth the good nights sleep. This recommendation only applies if you are carrying it, I don't really get involved in car camping but I'm sure loads of mats will do a great job if weight and pack size aren't an issue.

tell me more about exped mat scotroutes... my neoair xlites on its last legs after 6 years of no issues.... it seems the bottom has just worn out... i seem to be patching it after every couple of nights use atm.... while the wifes much newer regular neoair used next to me has been fine.

have exped sorted the delamination issue that caused me to buy the neoair in the first place.

Exped mat here too. Have the downmat UL, but the synmat is also very good (and a chunk cheaper)

[s]Slight hijack: so I've been looking at the expeds because they always get good mentions and I notice that the LW is cheaper than the MW size, is this because they're too long for your average 1 or 2 man tent? The usual M's are the cheapest.
I'd quite like the extra width, but not bothered about more length (as the actress said to the bishop), but then [/s]

Exped mats: are M's wide enough for the average beer-bellied fellow or is it worth the extra money (about £40) for the MW?

This is a thread I started a while back:

http://singletrackmag.com/forum/topic/self-inflating-mats

We have plumped for the Exped Multimat 10's - not cheap (but got them 2nd hand) but staggeringly comfortable. We tried the 12cm Outwell and that was similarly comfortable but eye-wateringly expensive, and not in stock.

HTH.
