This is super smashing great. And despite how deep we are into 2015 and all the competition, I still think it's the best.
Sent from my time machine
No. Really not.
I was going to nominate myself, single and ready to go this year....
That is really dull, sounds like they just keep the intro going, just when you think the song is about to actually start, it doesn't.
That's offensive to my ears OP.
Akin to a (very poor) Debbie Harry tribute
Is this some sort of joke? Genuinely, this sounds like some high school band's first song. Terrible.
This is much better (IMO of course) - from a quick search of January releases...
Oh, and the lead singer looks like a 39 year old skank, who doesn't realise she is no longer 19 and what 20 years of injecting heroine and working street corners has done to her looks.
Drone....drone...basic chord progression.....drone....wtf?-key change?...... Have I suddenly been transported back to the 1980's?, if so then I'd like to apologise for lying to Susan Collins in our 4th yr art class (1987), whitesnake were shite and I only said I liked them so I could eventually touch your huge jumper zeppelins.
Rubbish.
The video is like some kind of piss take.
Yuk, and hmm to meh.
Oh, and the lead singer looks like a 39 year old skank, who doesn't realise she is no longer 19 and what 20 years of injecting heroine and working street corners has done to her looks.
Harsh but fair.
Hasn't the OP got previous trying to plug that seriously shite band?
I just assumed he was pissed on a Saturday night.
Much better [NSFW].
Hasn't the OP got previous trying to plug that seriously shite band?
I think you are being unfair. It's all a question of taste - and some people like shite.
There's already a thread you could've hidden that in to save embarrassment:

I can't say I recommend match.com, but if needs must...mikewsmith - MemberI was going to nominate myself, single and ready to go this year....
It's pleasant but loses marks for slightly soulless electronic sounds and very contemporary production. 7/10TheArtistFormerlyKnownAsSTR - MemberThis is much better (IMO of course) - from a quick search of January releases...

You make some good points, but it's still a very boring song!
Only when the music is so shit dull that their carefully crafted image of street hooker is the most interesting thing worthy of commenting on. Just like the last thread you started about music with another completely dull band and a lead singer who looked like a smack addicted rentboy.
That is truly awful.
Any particular interest in this well-reviewed track you'd like to declare at this point, OP? 😀
Is it you on guitar again? I hope you're not also responsible for the uninspired songwriting...
Dull, duller, dullest.
So predictable, so utterly lifeless. No redeeming features that I can detect.
Miss.
Not in a position to suggest any better alternatives yet, I've not heard any radio to speak of since Christmas Eve, but I'm sure I'll hear some good stuff on 6Music from 10 tomorrow.
[edit] I've got a CD with a bunch of new songs for '15, not sure if they're singles, though every one is leagues better than that turgid drone up there ^^
The Decemberists - The Wrong Year
Vietnam Cong - Continental Shelf
The Waterboys - Destinies Entwined
There's a bunch of other songs but they'll do to be going on with.
^^I was just browsing anonymously but felt compelled to log-in to pay my respects to the use of "turgid",a criminally under-used adjective but wholly appropriate given the subject matter.
Orangeorange, Ithangyou!
This single was released today, although I got a download before Christmas. This is, I think, what the OP's band were aiming for, and missed by a very wide margin. I love this song...
Stealing Cars, by Nadine Shah
And this one as well:
Bury Your Friends, by Sleater Kinney
. We don't talk about premature ejac...I was going to nominate myself, single and ready to go
