Boring, prob done to death but I'm lazy. Contract is up and I have an S7, can't see any point in changing. Any recommendations for 4-5GB data? Plusnet for £9 look ok although online reviews are pretty woeful

FYI, Plusnet told me they use EE network, so if you know how that reception is, it should be the same. Have every intention of getting one of their sim only contracts when I'm motivated enough.

Looked at this the other day after getting a vodafone sales call. Deals don't seem to be as good as they were a few years ago. Sales guy agreed that if I didn't want a new phone I'd be a fool to change from my current sim only deal as it can't be beat at the moment, certainly with Voda (20gb for circa £15pm).

Giffgaff for £12 you get 4GB data and unlimited texts and calls. Been good so far for me. If you want a referral link for some bonus credit then message me.

I have the £10 Giffgaff and I'm currently getting 4gb for the price of 3gb.  What I like about Giffgaff is when they upgrade their tariffs you get the upgrade straight away and don't have to do anything.

Dunno about best, but I am thinking of swapping from O2 to EE. O2 used to be good for travelling, but that advantage disappeared with the new EU rules.

I have used GffGaff (use O2 network) and currently on Plusnet (use EE network),  no problems with either.

If you want a deal with a mainstream dealer then walk past your local Virgin or 3 shops, they always seem to have some pretty sharp deals on a board outside when I walk past.

Giffgaff are good to deal with very flexible and easy to change deals. That said I switched to ID as they offered a better deal. The data rolls over so I can get away with less data as i rarely use it all in a month.

My son's got a Talkmobile SIM I got from Carphone warehouse years ago.

They're now £5!

And what I will say is that their customer service is one of the best I've ever encountered. Really helpful.

(So much so that they reduced his £12 a month sim to £5 a month without a blink 🙂 )

Highly recommended.

When I jumped from Vodafone recently they offered me 20gb, all of my calls and messages for £15 or £24 including Spotify. They also wanted to chuck in a signal boost box but these have a reputation for catching fire. EE was the best deal but when I got the sim I realised there was chuff all signal. Ended up going with o2. £15 per month for 18gb calls and texts and six months Netflix.  The prices include discount for using Blue Light Card. I'll also get around £20 cashback for using Uswitch via quidco.

I (and seems a few others) had issues on the Plusnet/EE network.

Kept missing incoming calls when the handset (an S7 in my case but not others) was on the 4G network - fine on 3G.

Works fine on native EE or even a BT (same outfit as Plusnet) sims.

Plusnet could not resolve so went elsewhere.

40 Gb and Unltd calls and texts for £20 on EE - one thing I like is that I can move the data between sims on the same contract - so when the dongle in the car runs out of data with the kids watching postman pat I can move some data across without buying any more.

I just told o2 I wanted to cancel.  They upgraded my sim only to 5gb, unlimited calls and texts and guaranteed me 4G (I was supposed to be 4G before but I never got it and couldn't be bothered sorting it out.) Price has dropped to £11 a month.  Happy with that for minimal effort.

40 Gb and Unltd calls and texts for £20 on EE

Makes my deal look rather poor!

Some of these SIM only deals listed aren't all that good.just got mrsws a shiny new s8 with 4gb data and unlimited everything else for 24/month. I appreciate not everybody wants a new phone bit it's worth looking if you're handset is a bit dated.

Virgin mobile have a deal at the moment.

45gb data for £18 per month. The missus is with them and they seem ok.

I'm with 3 and they usually have good deals on data.
