What is the best route? I was thinking the most enjoyable would be the northern section of the South West Coast path, Offa’s Dyke Way, Pennine Way, West Highland Way and then Great Glen Way, but I know some people substitute the Offa’s Dyke for the Cotswold Way instead, and also ditch the South West Coast path because it is too hilly. Have I missed out any obvious long distance paths that might help link things up, or be a more enjoyable walk?

I can’t offer much in the way of advice other than to say the North bit of the SW Coast Path is stunning, but jeez there’s some brutal elevation changes.

I just read "The Salt Path" about the SW Coastal Path - it comes over as hilly !

I agree those hills look tough going, maybe the Mary Michael Pilgrim’s Way would be better?
