Is it M&S? Always bought them from there but last pair I got was from Next and the quality was shite by comparison. Anywhere else I should try?

There'll be a £100+ pair of slippers suggested any moment now.

Camper ones are good but are a bit pricey (nowhere near a £100 mind). I have found Uniqlo ones are similar and are a fraction of the price so would recommend them.

That may distract you from your cold feet for a while, but you'll still want some slippers for when you sneak off afterwards to give the old chap a rinse in a beaker.

Seriously? My mind is starting to dissolve at the very concept of that. What kind of sick twisted pervert would even think of producing such a thing? 😯

Camper Wabi. I have some. Paid about £30 for mine (new ones are £50 full price). First pair of slippers I've owned since I was at prep schoool... *drifts off into reverie of Tom Brown's schooldays*

I like Pavers for the cheaper option. Good, honest, long lasting slipper that look like slippers. Better than M&S or Next from my experience.

My Eccos are great, my Mahabis were shit. Heel support that doesn't support the heel, detachable soles that come off easily, and a felt material that looks tatty fast.

Surely STW has someone who can make a durable nubuck sheepskin lined slipper for < £50 - it would be a winner on the quarterly 'what slippers' thread and the 'what did you last make' one.

Clarks sheepskin nubuck ones were ok but needed running repairs to reglue the sole after a year or so. M&S next on list but not optimistic.
Sheepskin crocs are so Land Rover man it's unreal!

This.
Really very very nice. I bought Mrs PP some Uggs a couple of years ago and they're still basically brand new. She bought me some OF THESE this year. Too warm for summer though. I love the boots too, I've got some leather ones that are 4-5 years old and have been worn to death in the winter (And for commuting on the scooter too) and I see no reason they won't last 10 years. Expensive, yes, but that'll boil down to under £25/year, so the value is in the longevity.... Like a Chris King headset... 🙂

I'm wearing Romika Mokasso (what great name ripe for ridicule), very nice. Considering the amount of time I spend at home walking between the study and kitchen they're doing well.

I hate slippers, they're just not slippy enough. Instead I wear wool blend cricket socks at about a fiver a pair. I can do epic skids in them right across our living room floor. I am 46, BTW.

Current wifes Uggs are not even a year old and although in one piece are pretty worn out. She wants another pair and I am still reeling from the cost from last year.
From my perception on slippers, both M&S and Next are crap. Last 3 months on me. Bought furry crocs and although never fell apart, after 6 months of visible static shocking the family and pets, felt they were not brilliant, although running a copper wire under the heal to the sole, did help. It was too dangerous to turn lights on of the tv. I am wearing leather moccasins off fleabay at £15 ish a pair and want a new pair for Xmas , as a year old now.

I'm a big slipper fan, most only last a few months before they stink to high heaven (I wear them bear feet) but I bought a pair of these THESE in June

[img] [/img]

And they have been great, they still smell of leather, a minor miracle (second bible reference), I see they now do a fleece lined version so I might put it on the Xmas list (third reference), I believe they are a gift from above at the price (fourth... 😉

I've got some Homeys that are easily 10 years old and still going strong, not smelly or anything, comfy, have proper soles for going outside with the bin bag or whatever. The wife kept nicking them and eventually bought her own which was AAAAAA I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M TALKING ABOUT WHAT SLIPPERS ARE THE BEST OH GOD KILL ME NOW

^ they've got laces so don't count

I'm on my second pair of Homeys. They are comfy, hands free, and washable. They do wear over time but I prefer the look to other grandad offerings for £30

just because it winds binners up so.....

crocs - bought because flip flops are banned offshore for the most part - and then i had my non closed mind opened up to the fact that they are bloody comfy and practical - would buy another set tomorrow if these died - even if i didnt work offshore.

Although when its really cold in the house i do grab my nordisk down slippers but they fail the need hands to install test..... but warm 😀

Currently at the end of my Tesco slipper life cycle (too smelly to wear unless you are ten foot tall).

Any recommendations for something you can wear barefoot that wont stink to high heaven? My feet aren't smelly, its just the cheap crap you get in normal slippers that make me sweat and wont wick off, tried everything including sticking them in the freezer for a couple of days to kill off the bacteria and nothing works.

Not precious about having to use my hands. Definitely want something warm.

My favourite slippers up to now have been Moshulu Jakarta's Really comfortable, easy to step into, can be worn outside for bin duties and last for ages, but I'm liking the look of those sheepskin lined Crocs.

10 years? Didn't know the brand was going that long. I like homeys but they do go a bit baggy and maybe last about 2 years, not 10.

I had a pair I picked up in Norway cheap as chips lasted years. I even used them in the evening to walk to the kiwi bar in Bosnia instead of my army boots during my winter tour there;) they were ace I wore them all the time finally gave up after about 15 years. And I can't find them anymore. Will have to ask our kid he's going to Norway in March 😉

I've got a pair of these Snugs http://www.natureshop.co.uk/collections/snugs-mens-footwear-slippers/products/snugs-snowdon-chocolate which are all what I want from a slipper. Rubber soles so a dash to the log store isn't out of the question, Lego proof and pretty damn cosy. 30% off at the minute too which isn't bad

After years of wearing the MIL's slippers when in Harrogate at the Farm (flag stone floors, drafty as fek, stupid 3 stair staircase with shallow steps, downstairs bathroom & loo etc.) I kinda got really annoyed having slipped up the stairs again carrying tea.. and kicked her sodding blue fluffy things into touch.. and went to Jones and bought some slippers called JUST Sheepskin. They are indeed just that wrapped around the foot, so not a slip in the back type, and have a nice thin/medium hard but flexible sole.
I only wear them up there, can't stand slippers anywhere else, but believe me.. when in the North, do as Northerners.... 🙄

North Face traction mule are good. Super warm and you can wear them outside, in camping barns, huts, etc. The insole is super thick and warm for those of us who don't have under floor heating.

I'm currently using a pair of Sanuk fleece lined hobbies. Warm, comfortable and with a sole that can handle outside.

As a bonus, they don't look too slippery!

Ugg. Wonderfully snug and still going after 3 years. Regularly have to be repatriated from the feet of mrs jonwe and various teenage sons despite them having their own ( clearly inferior and better fitting) slippers. The xtr of the slipper world.
