Probably a question for Ton, but which is the best pub in Grassington for a pint and pie?
Do you have access to a car? Or are you stuck in Grassington? I've never been that impressed with the pubs in the immediate vicinity. The one that doubles as the exterior of the Drovers Arms in All Creatures Great and Small is OK.
If you have a car, Craven Arms at Appletreewick is about 10 minutes away, for a proper Dales pub experience, and there is the Bluebell Inn at Kettlewell where I've always had really good food.
Came here to say Craven Arms
I also really like the fountaine inn in Linton, mainly due to the lovely riverside setting. Best on a hot day so you can sit outside next to the green
Fountaine is in a lovely spot, but I had the worst meal I've ever had in a supposed 'gastropub' there, so I'm loathe to recommend it.
which is the pub that charges london prices, i had a friend tell me last summer, he ordered a pint and said, nah I'm alright and walked out, sure it was grassington
Devonshire Arms (Drovers in All Creatures...) is very nice for beer and food. Foresters Arms up the road I would never visit again - food vile and made the teenagers vomit in the car on the way home. Not nice!
Craven Arms in Appletreewick is also wonderful. Cruck Barn out the back is a great venue.
Black Horse Hotel. Easily the best food and ale in Grassington. The have a little restaurant attached to the pub called the Moral. Food was lovely.
Devonshire is ok, nothing special. Foresters is an unmitigated Dump.
Fountaine is lovely but never eaten there
