We don't know diddly about cameras apart from our one has broken.
Budget is £150.

As above, Canon S(whatever model you can get with £150, S95 possibly?). Tiny camera, high quality pics.

I've seen/used a whole host of small Canons (Ixus, Powershot, S) and have been very impressed with them all.

Canon Ixus. I'm sure not the best camera, but I'd rather have a crap photo then no photo (because I left it at home due to size).

Just got a Canon S110 after much debate. Bit over your price range tho, cost me £230 off ebay. Maybe consider S95?

S95 is great and if you can get one for £150, go for it. Otherwise, bit of a silly recommendation, something twice the OP's budget!
