Yes I know you can get cheaper better watches, no need to spend so much on a watch blah blah blah but a special person has a wish of a Tag Heuer watch for his 50th birthday so I have said I'll have a look for one. Budget up to £3,000. Where's the best place to get one?

My wife got mine for a deal under retail, brand new papers etc from watchfinder... this was for my 30th though, & that was some 12 years ago.

It's pucker having been serviced by Tag since

Many of the big jewellers will have a tag franchise. However do try and barter on the price even when somewhere like goldsmiths. However my dad bought his from a local jeweller who they deal with and got a very good deal.

These are from Europe and usually offer a good discount and service, I’ve used them for a TAG

If you can find an independent dealer you can play them off against each other and get pretty good discounts.

Watchfinder are good but you pay a premium.

If you want a specific model then your local jewellers, be that a chain or not. It helps if there's a few in the vicinity of each other and you can say "Give me a reason to buy from you and not the fella over the road". This has worked for me with watches in the past. The other option is the Tag outlet at Bicester Village, who occasionally have some discounts on the shelf.

Your final option is to have a look at Creation Watches who offer some very good prices, though don't forget you need to factor in toe import duty to the price they charge you.

If you are anywhere near York there is a Tag Heuer outlet at McArthurGlen who do offer genuine discounts.

My mate lives in Thailand, he gets great deals on TAG, Gucci, DKNY and Rolex.
I'll drop him an email if you can tell me the model you want..
He likes PayPal gift and is very trustworthy.:-)

Tend to be some really good deals in Barbados, Columbian Emeralds in Bridgetown - you can negotiate.

I bought one last year. Ordered at Watches of Switzerland (yes I know not the best place) at Heathrow and picked it up on way back into Heathrow. Very easy to do if you are passing through LHR at some point and 20% Off.
