My daughter has an ailing iPhone which she bought secondhand. I have got her a sim only contract with lots of data.
She now decides she needs a new phone. She is happy with android, so what is the best phone for £200 please.
Its money i dont want to spend but she is a student and relies on this device.
Thanks
Ian

My daughter very happy with her Moto G8 power lite, coming from an iphone 6. Also only half your budget now.

Also consider a Pixel 3a, assuming it goes back down to around your budget again soon (it was £230 last week).

Plus on for Moto G series here. We've both just got new G8 phones but there are lots of slight differences in spec from G8 lite, G8, G9 play, G8 plus G8 power etc.
All look good value for their price but change a few features.
The Pixel also looks great but was £90 more each which was too much for our budget, particularly as we both have dying phones.

Xiaomi have some great deals at the moment, plenty of 5G action as well if u want that for around the £220 mark ?
Picked myself a Redmi 8T up a few weeks ago for £129 !! ... really impressed for the money including a reasonable camera 🙂

Xiaomi mi10 t lite

I paid £199/64gb and happy with my purchase. Decent specs + 5g if available. Camera good, battery charging really quick.

Samsung Galaxy M31?

£200 on Amazon. We just bought one for our daughter. I guess we will find out on Xmas day if it was the right decision!

I bought a Motorola g8 power from John Lewis.

Same price as else where, but 2y guarantee not one.

The battery life is great, everything else is fine. Camera is fine, not as fancy as a posh I phone, but it's 1/5 of the price.

I'd buy again

Samsung Galaxy M31

Missus is due a new phone, S7 is no longer updating and it's causing lots of app issues, this is a contender.

I have a Motorola G8+ and although it's very good, the good lady is used to the samsung UI now.

I've been tempted but a MI 10T lite, but currently put off by the size and weight. I'm currently using a MI A3 lite, which is a good size but I don't think I want to go any bigger.

Ive been more impressed with the Motorola one series phones than the G Series. Typically a bit more than 200, but they are more refined and you get guaranteed OS support for 3 years of updates.

If you shop around you can find them at about £200 or just under.

The HTC Desire 20 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery.

Everything else seems decent for the money, reviews are good for a non flagship type phone.

To those suggesting the Moto G8, any thoughts on the negative reviews and experiences people on here have had?

Nicko, Mrs CFH has a G8+.

Original one developed a faulty fingerprint sensor, was replaced on warranty. Since then the replacement has been faultless. Given the cost, it's very impressive.

Good to know. And the size isn't too huge?

And the size isn’t too huge?

*Resists obvious joke*

It's not phablet massive, and she seems happy with it overall.

Personally, I prefer something a little smaller, currently a Samsung S10e, but that's a bit over budget!

almost bought the Mi 10T lite, this week, for the battery mostly, but decided on a Samsung s9 for the camera in the end
Samsung M31 looked good too
cant see myself using 5G anytime soon
Check with her if she most needs a big battery, 5G, camera for low light/action shots etc, as you cant get everything new at that price range
