Struggling to do anything useful with the footage I've recorded so far, but can't afford a new laptop to replace the creaking ten year old Vaio in the garage.
My work laptop seems pretty powerful but I can't install new software on it so need to try online software. Don't mind paying a bit of a monthly sub for the right features.
I guess I want to trim and sequence clips from my raw footage, perhaps with some basic transitions and ability to insert screenshots/photos/captions.
A library of copyright free music would be handy but that's something I can worry about later.
Finally I think I need to be able to change resolution for YouTube uploads in order to game YouTube's compression settings.
Anything better than Adobe Express for the beginner?
Ta
Clipchamp might be worth a try.
I’ve not used it personally for editing clips, but doesn’t the go pro app (Quik?) do that on your phone?
Yeah I tried Quik, wasn't a fan, I think it's designed to produce quick edits based on 'theme' and doesn't seem to offer much customisation. Plus with my fat fingers I don't really want to be editing videos on my tiny phone! 😂
Will have a look at Clipchamp, thanks 👍
Can't help with online software but I use the quik app on the phone for short edits. It is quite useful once you get your head around the interface. I watched YouTube videos for tips on using the software.
I've also found the iMovie app on my aging iPad is very good as well.
