don't you dare say otherwise 😉
Piiiiiiss off.
Borderlands series is usually reliable.
Good call.
The interactive intro of Half Life. I remember my mind being well and truly boggled by that at the time.
^^ Another World was the first thing I thought of. I remember being blown away by the intro back in my Atari ST days.
Yeah, it looks so primitive now but my Amiga didn't know what hit it. Was the first time I saw the cinematic potential of a game and the experience has stayed with me to this day.
I think it was seeing Another World when I suddenly realised, today's intros and cutscenes are tomorrow's games. It was like seeing the future.
It's an adage that's mostly held true, up until relatively recently when cutscenes started being generated real-time by the game engine.
Aye another world was sensational when it came out! 🙂 First glimpse into the modern day game!
Another World +1. Blew me away at the time. Preferred the game play of Flashback though - felt more 'gamey'.
another world and Doom, pretty much the foundations that most games based themselves on for the next 20 years!! 😆

never did like flashback tbh.
Interesting fact, btw. Flashback is remembered by most folk as a sequel to Another World, but they've nothing to do with each other beyond being released by the same company.
The Command and Conquer series had some nice intros and cutscenes. Especially Red Alert.
How about something more modern.

Both
and
blew my mind when I was younger.
Ah, Psygnosis.
Back when we'd only ever seen their name written down in that flashy box-art font, my mum commented that it didn't say Psygnosis, but Psychosis. My god, I thought, she's right, I've been misreading it for years! What a fool I felt. But no, of course as we all now know, it is Psygnosis. But look at it again... can you un-see Psychosis?
Matt outandabout. That takes me back!
The winner...
Syndicate Wars (on the move so can't be chuffed linking YouTube)
But look at it again... can you un-see Psychosis?
Well now that you've said that no, no I can't.
Ooooh! Oooooh!
Just leave this here , best game ever
When it comes to Red Dead Redemption, I think the end of that game tops everything. Perfect use of music as well.
This is a long video and obviously spoilers, but this is one of the few moments in gaming that made me put down my controller and just sit there.
If question = best game thing ever, then answer = ff7

I'll raise you with counter strike, I never could stick half life for that long, always reverted to counter strike, Which along with unreal tournament, are the top 2 online shooters ever made! 🙂 Quake gets a notable mention aswell mind.
GTA: Vice City's intro has always stuck with me.
Blizzard have always done brilliant cut scenes but for immersion the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was incredible, seen through the eyes of a deposed president of a fictional Middle Eastern country as you're driven through the streets towards your public execution by the rebel commander.
The slow realization of what was happening coupled with the vivid depiction of a country going straight to hell was brilliantly done, it's a method that's been used by a few games since but as this was the first time I'd encountered it the impact was so much greater.
Not an intro but the trailer for Dead Island was brilliant.
Northwind is correct; FF7 wins by default.
