I'm new to tubeless but found my first split tube conversion with stans to be relatively simple and successful. I have a number of wheelsets to do now incl some fat and am realising that the sealant cost won't be cheap if I opt for Stans ..particularly if I cock stuff up and lose the juice in the process. SO .. is there any consensus re a cheaper option that works well ...can be homebrew/whatever? As mentioned..I see some have had satisfactory results with OKO sealant +?....not sure which version though?
Many thanks in advance
Cheers
Bill.
I've put tubeless sealant in the same category as tea bags and toilet paper. Yes, cheap options do exist but it'll be a hard winter when they seem worth it.
Yes.. that's worth thinking about!
Well if you're really planning on using a lot !!!!!

I've used Oko original stuff diluted and with glitter. I'm back on Stans. Oko was ok but I think Stans is superior in almost every way. Apart from the price.
I used to make my own from a recipe that was posted on here years ago, and which worked very well
It required a tablespoon of liquid latex, a tablespoon of Slime, a tablespoon of undiluted screen wash liquid, and half a cup of water, mixed well.
Oko in four bikes here.

+1
Ive used jra, stans, some budget stuff and oko.
Tbh all but the stans had issues.
Oko works at low pressures and lasts ages, but refuses to seal the beads on my road bike, and barely on the mtb. They just go down over a few days.
Stans just worked.
Ive just bought a big bottle of stans race sealent. Its £25 but at £2.50 a wheel its still half the cost of a decent tube.
If i was to faff a bit more i think the oko needs more liquid latex as i think it relies heavily on the fibres to seal holes and not enough on latex.
But £25 for 5 bikes worth, it seems like a lot compared to OKO, but its still bloomin cheap.
