Been using the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 for a while and whilst the phone performs perfectly and is great to use I have decided the 5.5" screen is really too big for what I want.
I have gone back to the Vodafone Smart Prime6 - which is only a 5" screen and that's the size I want to stay in. Unfortunately going from the Ultra to the Prime I notice it being a little more sluggish!!
What'd the hive recommendation for a budget 5" android phone (have seen the Jiayu S3+ that's constantly recommended, but only available in 5.5"!!)
I'm writing this from a Huwaei P8 lite, it was a bargain and easily copes with the current android releases and apps. Typical stw recommend what you have but I'm a happy user
Anymore?

Does the extra 0.5" make that much difference? FWIW I went from an iPhone 5 to a Jiayu S3 and was worried about the size - seems perfectly normal now and I wouldn't dream of going smaller.
There are very few smaller budget android phones especially from the cheaper Chinese suppliers. Seems big screens is where its at. I went through this a while back and they all had features missing or big screens. There are a couple of Samsungs that might fit the bill in budget but the interface isn't to everyone's taste (although I find it mostly OK)
To counter the above, I went from a 4.5" to 5.5" thinking it'll be fine but it really wasn't. Just too big, might have have got on with it given time but it broke and I got another 4.5" which I'm much happier with.
MotoG 3rd gen?
I have a Sony Aqua M4 provided by my work. It's pretty good, although too big for me - I much prefer my Z3 Compact.
Second hand Sony Zx-compact? I got my Z1-compact about a year ago for £100.
My iphone died earlier this year and I bought an EE Rook as a stopgap replacement. It's reasonably competent and handles most of my app needs fine. Screen has utterly abysmal viewing angles though (generally not a problem, but it's noticeable when you watch a video in landscape mode). Couldn't really expect a lot more for £50.
+1 EE Rook, saw them down to £29.95 (with another £10 to add),great carry along spare for that kind of money.
Moto G 2nd Gen ?
You can have mine in excellent condition for £65 posted .... !
(Box, usb cable, 3 back covers, etc ...)
Thanks for the offer but the spec pretty much matches what I have.
Will give it a chance before I jump ship as everything this size seems the same
Would this do?

Depends on what your budget is, I suppose, but a colleague of mine recently got a refurbed Xperia Z5 compact for £160 and loves it.
Reckons he gets 2 days out of the battery (despite it being effectively 2nd hand) and seems genuinely impressed with it, in general. This might have something to do with coming from a fairly basic Windows phone, but either way - it seems like a good deal if you don't mind it not being brand spanking new.....

I think it depends on how you use it, I've an S4 which is 5", used to think it was too big, but now that it's old and I'm no longer paranoid about breaking it, and therefore no longer encased in big wallet/case it feels about right. Fit's easily in pockets, etc.
Basically, used as the designer intended it's fine (for me, YMMV).
Depends what you need/want too, I'd quite like something a little bigger as I end up watching a lot of TV on mine.
