Stuck on the sofa as I've been stricken by the lurgy.
Anyone got any bike film recommendations? Things like Long Love Chainsaw/Onboard the TCR etc. always good.
BMX Bandits or Rad!
Proper bike films with a 'storyline'
Breaking Away, from when bikes were bikes - check out the skinny steel frames and horizontal top tubes!
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Definitely worth subscribing to GCN+ for a month and cancelling, lots of documentaries on there, everything from racing, to bikepacking to geeky docs on building velodromes etc, plus the MTB si on there now
There's always Premium Rush…
I always liked Seasons and Roam by the collective. Great soundtracks too!
The Dreamride trilogy from DiamondBack - about 17 mins all in but they are all fantastic.
+1 for ET, watch it on the biggest screen possible and you can see Elliot an ET bin it when being chased by the feds.
Makes my son and I smile 😀
I enjoyed Melons, trucks and angry dogs
Safety to Nome about the Iditarod trailrace is great.
As above, Melons, Trucks and Angry Dogs, also the following one about the Sverigetempo, can't remember the name.
A few years old, but Brevet is fantastic, follows 3 people through Paris-Brest-Paris.
El Silêncio about the Peru divide bike route.
The High Life, a Granada tv film about Robert Miliar.
Look out for Bob Haro in ET!
I love VAST, it's got a brilliant soundtrack, awesome locations and views, and while the riding is fantastic it's not the sort of mind-boggling ridiculousness of most bike films, it's way more... realistic? Most bike movies don't really make me want to ride, VAST makes me want to book a plane to the alps right now.
Blood Road is a good one.
Seasons or Ride The Divide are great.
No love for Strength in Numbers?
Strength in Numbers is great. So are all the others by Anthill Films
Tread is still great.
Also enjoyed that Untold story of British Mountain Biking.
Earther series. Must have watched earth 2 100 times.
Perhaps track down a season of Pacific Blue. I believe there were 5 of them.
Not watched this for a while
I don't know about best but Line of Sight has some craziest urban traffic riding

My favourites are:
Tall Bikes Will Save the World (a film that might just change your life)
and
Ice and Palms (although the skiing is really as much or more of a star than the cycling in this one)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AzyK5qr-WC0
https://m.imdb.com/title/tt8493156/
I quite enjoyed this, 1000 mile bike packing race across Alaska.
American Flyers.
In equal parts the worst and best film you'll watch this month in a so awful it's brilliant kind of way. A rite of passage for anyone who throws their leg over a road bike and dreams of riding it fast....just imagine Eddie is nipping at your heels. And of course Alexandra Paul.
Brandon semenuk rad company - awesome filing and a decent soundtrack
And ride the divide
Redbull TV has some good ones, accomplice is one of my favourites.

Icarus is good.
I love my bicycle the story of fbm.
Go fast pull up
Tall bikes will save the world
Not the 'best' but both a good watch:
Indipac
and the Lifetime series
A blast from the past:
Seasons. Still love it even though I don't ride any more.
I reckon someone having a crack at LEJOG would be a good basis for a film, but it doesn't sound like anyone is making an attempt this year.
if you want to be a little more sophisticated may i recommend the Bicycle Thieves (1948) Italian with subtitles:
Rotten Tomatoes 99% on Prime.
Velo Paradiso would be a great film. It hasn't been made yet though. I'm available for any role, filming will be in southern Italy.
One of my favourites is Where the Trail Ends. Freeride film with a great soundtrack.
I also found this to be utterly fascinating and impressive -
Absolutely loved American Flyers back in the 80s!
Have to confess I've even been to the Coors brewery in Golden CO (start of the race) to pay homage to the film (rather than the beer).
Blatant plug, but it seems a lot of people like it.

Most of my favourites have been already mentioned but I’ll add one retro film ‘90s MTB masters’
These types of videos got me addicted to MTB originally. Sure it is stupid, pretentious and corny but basic idea of escapism is still relevant.
That is a great wee film...think I've found the full length one here -
